Cassidy Nolen #1 Posted February 15, 2006 For some reason, I was talking to my great-grandmother and I ended up in a Brazilian Chicken shop. As I was leaving, there was this game store that was giving away all this Atari stuff. I explained that I am a teacher (the only part of this dream that was true) and they gave me all this stuff to give to my students. Meanwhile all the games that were being stored in honey bottles were peeling and I could not get the white Avalon Hill case games to stop disappearing. Miner 3 and some Answer software titles I had never seen before. Needless to say, not good to watch Olympics before bed. Makes you dream about weird Atari (at least it apparently has that effect on me). Cassidy

Radio F Software #4 Posted February 15, 2006 Why are ya storing games in honey jars in your dreams? I've had a weird dream once. I dreamt that in my dad's workshop/storagehouse he found a water damaged box of "video game crap" he said and he gave it to me. They were all Genesis and 32X games I had never heard of, and when I picked them up they all began to fall apart, like the labels would contort, bend, and fade, and then fall off. It was freaky. Sr. Ferraz #6 Posted February 16, 2006 Informing: I do not have a "Chicken Shop" I always dream to find in Brazil an old store of games with some sealed cartridges of Atari 2600 in the box. That is an excellent dream But it is difficult to happen... (to be realized)

Cassidy Nolen #8 Posted February 17, 2006 I've had the "find a thrift store and get some good games" dreams before, too! I thought I was nuts. Usually it ends up being around a good find for me (either a week or so before or after). I guess the X-Files aren't interested in this ESP honey-game dream. Honey, I don't even like honey. You should have seen it. Imagine a Quadrun silver label covered in crystallized honey. I was so excited to play some of those imaginary games, too. Wonder what Miner 2049er 3 would have been like. Hopefully not covered in honey. Cassidy BTW, Peruvian, Brazilian and El Salvadorean chicken places are everywhere around DC. All VERY good food and good prices. Pollo Rico in Clarendon is the one to hit if you are ever in Rossalyn or Georgetown for work. I like Pollo A La Brasa too in Alexandria.

Atariboy2600 #12 Posted February 17, 2006 The only Atari dream I had was in the early 90 I was dreaming that the 2600 had a CD player add-on and was playing what looks like a Turbo CD, Sega CD style videos on the 2600. The CD player was color black with a white Atari logo on top. I was hoping it was real. But again its only a dream.

I never had one of those dreams come true, but way too many times I had deja vu. For example, I had a dream talking to this girl, who I never met before. Couple days later... it happens. Scary, and it happens quite often with me.

Bruce Tomlin #16 Posted February 18, 2006 Dreaming of finding wierd cartridges is nothing new. Just search rec.games.video.classic on groups.google.com for "reef store". Just a couple of days ago I had a dream where I was in some junky thrift store and found some cartridges there.
fabventure2600 #17 Posted February 18, 2006 Man,this Reef store thing, reminds me to a Real Flea Market here in Vila Velha, and the weird fact is:The Neighborhood´s name that Flea Market´s fair is located,is called"AriBiri" or in other words(Sounds like"Bira-Bira") ....be carefull with "Caipirinha",not get drunk with it,or Da Vinci´s code gonna get you... Sayton #18 Posted February 18, 2006 Thankfully I haven't had one of those "find rare game" dreams in a long time. Guess that's cause I don't really buy video games that much anymore. I guess once I move and get married I'll get back into buying some Atari stuff then the dreams will hit again.

Raiu #20 Posted February 19, 2006 (edited) My Atari-related dreams usually involve going to a Circuit City-esque electronics store and finding that they have an entire row devoted to new-in-box Atari 2600 games, usually by third-party nobodies that I've never heard of. Sometimes I also find them in the back of such stores along with loose NES games. I've also had dreams of swap meets and indoor flea markets where they have piles of first party Atari carts with non-existent titles stacked up on every table. (The only title I remember is Star Wars, but it wasn't Parker Brothers, it was an old Atari text-label cart, with the end label in dark blue lowercase letters, and it had no subtitle). A variation of this has them stacked up inside glass cases in what looks like a supermarket. Edited becuase I just remembered others: not buying, playing. Finding them at friend's houses, and playing weird games that I've never seen before or since. Also, visiting my cousin's house (the cousin who in real life had an Atari long before I did) and finding that they still had their Atari set up for play. And sometimes just dreams of playing weird side-scrolling Atari games on the big TV in the den of my old house. (Definitely Atari games, despite the side-scrolling bit. Graphics were similar to Adventures of Tron) -DS- Edited February 19, 2006 by Raiu
