BigD73
I'm not an expert on the Jag so sorry for the questions but will a PAL cartridge work on a NTSC Jaguar? Also I see alot of owners from the UK but were Jaguars sold in Japan? Thanks for your help.
The_Laird
Jag games are all the same no matter what country you are in and no the Jag wasn't released in Japan. Hope this helps, welcome to AA!

Gaztee
Actually, weren't 40,000 Jags released in Japan bundled with AvP? Yes the jag was released in Japan & the figure I heard was 15 000 units. I have one myself, but swapped the AvP for Trevor McFur, D'oh! Phineasfool
Don't no how many were released, but I did see them over there while I was living in Japan. Only saw them in Akihabara though.

Hyper_Eye
There is at least one or two games that are not region free (well... they are but don't work properly) and I believe that would be Dragon's Lair and maybe Space Ace. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
The_Laird
Just Dragons Lair on CD, that is NTSC only.
+CharlieChaplin
Yep, but some Jaguar games are faster on NTSC (and slower on PAL). This *can be* frustrating, for example in Atari Karts which is slower and easier on PAL but faster and thus harder on NTSC... a friend of mine finished the PAL version of AK very easily, but the NTSC version took him many many more tries... (he said that the computer opponents in the higher levels were very hard to beat on a NTSC Jag)... -Andreas.

Isgoed
Maybe you would notice better mr. kizza if you peel your upper eyelids up , because CharlieChaplin is absolutely right There is a huge difference between PAL or NTSC, 50Hz or 60Hz For example, try Raiden, you will see the difference, and when dropping a bomb even hear the difference. Most games are played/displayed better in 60Hz mode, I even made a list up for myself of which game is best played in which mode

Paolo
But I think that the difference stays, since your Jag's clock ticks differently. Your TV just receive the signal, and doesn't affect the Jag's behaviour.
Atari Dogs
Another dumb question, but are digital or hdtv's either ntsc or pal or has new technology combined the two formats?
