MegaManFan #2 Posted February 17, 2006 I probably shouldn't tell any of you how much I paid for my River Patrol. It's a bit of a hack job, but it's in an authentic Tigervision case and it's the real River Patrol chip inside, with a reproduction label you'd be hard-pressed to tell the difference on. holygrailvideogames.com #4 Posted February 17, 2006 Atari2600.com has four River Patrol's on their site including one that they grade as a 10 out of 10. All four are a lot less than this one.

maibock #7 Posted February 17, 2006 FYI - I would not recommend putting a valuable cartridge into a PAS (Pink Anti-Stat) polyethylene bag. They have a shelf life of about 6-9 months before the properties deteriorate. Also, some cheap film extruders use a pig fat(or sometimes vegetable fat) substance which can blossom out of the bag, making the bag "sticky", which could easily ruin the label or any manuals in contact with it. Use a static shielding bag, preferably ziplocked.. Yeah, it's a bit more expensive, but if you're looking to protect your investment, it's more than worth it.. That's what I use. I also don't keep manuals in the bags or with the games, I store them in seperate sheets - again, which I got from Al through AA. Gregory DG #11 Posted February 17, 2006 For that much money, I'd expect a box, manuals, and a never played, never opened game.

I also don't keep manuals in the bags or with the games, I store them in seperate sheets - again, which I got from Al through AA. 1019990[/snapback] The only bags I see in the store are these which look like general polyethylene bags, which are better than the PAS bags the guy in the auction has. I think the guy is using a PAS bag to protect the eprom from static charges, which I'm not aware has ever damage cartridges. If you want my expert opinion, I think it's more of a gimmick that would do more harm to the cartridge than good. The premise of anti stat bags are to keep static charges away from electrical devices. Like I mentioned before, if that's your objective I'd go with a static shielding bag, which has layers of aluminum, polyester and coated polyethylene in between the layers of poly. Could be over kill I know, but for a grand, I guess you can't be too cautious.
