The 7800 is even sexier than a 2600 since it plays all but one 2600 game.

 

If you want slim to go with that, get a catridge-fied Flashback 2.

Without hesitation I would say the TG 16. If Xbox emulation of the TG was spectacular then I woulda said that, but that not the case and I can't imagine life without the Turbo

Tough call between the VCS and the CV... Can I say CV with a VCS expansion module?

 

Yeah you could. That another reason I chose Intellivision because if I got the VCS System Changer Module I could play all of my VCS games on it.

I really have a soft spot for the Saturn. I love everything about that system, even though I don't really belong to it's core market (ie. I don't like beat-em-ups or shoot-em-ups).

I have a soft spot for the Saturn as well. I grew up through the early and mid nineties. I saw this emmergence of 3D polygon video games and to me the Saturn was this extremly powerful system (Sega was always more powerful ). But my dad wouldn't get me one. He said that the Saturn wouldn't have many games and would be killed by Sony. How is he always right . So instead of me getting a Saturn my younger brother got a PS1 and my older brother got an N64. I felt so ignored when it came to gaming in the 90s but for my most recent birthday I asked for a Saturn and my dad decided that since I am now much older I was probably making a good choice. The Saturn kicks just as much ass as I thought it would in 1995. Long live Saturn.

There will always be a special place in my heart for the ColecoVision, but in a situation where I would have to choose only one console and stick with it for the rest of my life, I'd have to go with a Super-NES, if only for the high number of great games that can keep me busy for hours, even days and weeks, from action games to RPGs. However, if I could select two consoles, my second choice would be the CV, no question about it.

That's really tough, for me it's the N64 because 4 player Golden Eye is hard to beat and having all of the players in the same room beats over the web any day.

 

For 8-bit I have to go for the CV with the VCS adaptor, I still love and play that system today.

If you had to get rid of all your consoles and keep only one (let's hope such a judgement day never occurs) what would it be? After alot of thought over the matter I have decided for me it would be my Intellivision. I love the great first party support it got from mattel, all of the titles they made are top notch. The controllers are so great that they never had the limitation of one button like the 2600 and the disc is like a d-pad. It had great add-ons like the IntelliVoice and ECS making the intellivision upgradable. My favourite games include Night Stalker, Space Spartans, Auto Racing and Baseball. Plus the fact that it is the world's first 16-bit console does something for me as well (I dunno why).

 

So what is your favourite console and why?

I've got an unholy(and possibly illegal) love of the Vectrex, but the software library's just a TAD small to be my only machine.

Hooray another Intellivision fan in the Atari world we live in. I only became a fan after picking up Intellivision Lives! wich is a great compilation. Most people I know don't want to try Intellivision because of the controllers. I think that anybody who says that the controllers stink have never used them before. But Intellivision is awesome.

Mines gotta be the NES. Super mario never gets old, and blaster master has always been a favorite of mine. Plus when i get bored i can always spend my time cleaning it over and over to make it keep working...

 

 

 

 

But ps2 gives it a run for the money for only one game..amplitude..the only new game i cant stop playing....but NES still takes the cake

If I had to get rid of all my consoles and keep only one I would keep my Xbox 360. Of all the systems I have right now, it is the one console that will probably have significant new game releases for the next 4-5 years, not to mention classic game compilations.

 

 

The NES would be my choice for favorite system of all time, despite the fact that 1/4 of the play time is spent cleaning cartridges, and dealing with the idiotic toaster design.

I can tell my future favorite console will be the Revolution.. but until then I'm going to say the Super Nintendo. It was a close one between than and NES, but Super Mario World blew me away!

No desire? You go out and buy a real SMS right now! Emulation is never good enough, it pales in comparison to the real thing.
