8th lutz #1 Posted February 24, 2006 (edited) I am doing this since gamefaqs one is laughable. That pathetic one is at http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/top10/294.html. I did expect it though. This one is for the rpgs that weren't played that in the area in the world you lived in. In the time the games where release or not adveristed well. Here is mine. Dragon warrior 3-nes Dragon Warrior 4-nes Luffia 1 Record of Lodoss war-dreamcast Legend of Legaia-ps 1 Destiny of an Emperor-nes Luffia 2 most of y's series. SHAGOHOD X99 #2 Posted February 24, 2006 Some of the games I'd add: -------------------------------- Record of Lodoss War ---(PC-Engine SCD) Dragon Knight I - III ---(PC Engine) *though #3 did come out for PC in America retitled "Knights of Xentar" Lagrange Point ---(Famicom)
tmont #3 Posted February 24, 2006 I can't believe they put Quest 64 on there. That game is so tediously linear. It's just one long winding road to the end. It had potential, but there were so many things that sucked about that game that made it almost unbearable for any length of time.
pseudonymr #4 Posted February 24, 2006 (edited) NES: Crystalis SNES: Twisted Tale of Spike Mcfang EVO: The Search for Eden Genesis: Crusader of Centy Playstation: Valryrie Profile Good choice with Destiny of an Emperor. It actually got a sequel that was only released in Japan. I would add AD&D: Dragons of Flame as an honorable mention. It's not a great game but seeing as it's the sequel to Heroes of the Lance it probably deserves a "most improved" award. JagFan422 #5 Posted February 24, 2006 the best RPG you've never played or heard of is The Magic of Shaherazade for NES, the name may be spelled wrong. Its like a cross between Zelda and Final Fantasy. You fight enemies on screen like Zelda, but then every once in a while you get a random battle like Final Fantasy. There are many characters to have in your party and you can combo attack with different characters. Very good game.

8th lutz #7 Posted February 24, 2006 (edited) no panzer dragoon saga? 1023604 It was hard for me to put it on, I don't have the game. The game had a low production. I did know it was a grat game by its reviews. It is on my brother's list of games to get for the saturn. I think some topics like this may need more then 10. Gabriel #8 Posted February 24, 2006 no panzer dragoon saga? 1023604 It isn't really very good. If it were made by anyone other than Sega, and was just slightly more common, no one would ever bring it up. It would be about as well regarded as forgotten titles like Beyond the Beyond. BydoEmpire #9 Posted February 24, 2006 (edited) I really enjoyed PDS. I thought it had fantastic atmosphere and a great combat system. I agree that its rarity (and probably being by Sega) overhypes the game, but it's still excellent and should be on the list (or at least get an 'honorable mention). figgler #12 Posted February 25, 2006 It irks me when these lists lump Zelda games in with RPGs. It's like they've never played them. There's no Experience, no levelling, no customisation of any kind other than your name. Plus it's all action. Is it just because you need to read a lot? Stupid. Some games are true action rpgs. The have levling up and moneying. I consider spick mcfang to be one, Crystalis to be one also, and exile is one. Most of the games in the so-called action rpg genre don't belong there. There have money but no leveling up, or no money and leveling up, and neither. The last action rpg release was y's 6. Besides that with zelda, I read that one the games on that list on gamefaqs is point and click.
