godsey1 #1 Posted June 9, 2002 Hi all, I had another great day at the flea market today, even though it's not all Atari I think it was some great finds. I got a box of Intellivision stuff and the guy throwed in 6 hand held games: Cosmic 3000 Fire Away from Tandy, KingMan from Tandy, Funtronics Jacks, Football II from Mattel, Invaders From Space from Epoch (never heard of this one), Hit and Miss from Tomy from 1979, the Intellevision had 13 boxed games (most had good boxes)Triple action, Major League Baseball, Lock and Chase, Micro Surgeon, Advanced Dungeons & Dragons : Treasure of Tarmin, Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, Centipede, Las Vegas Poker and Blackjack, Swords & Serpents, Boxing, Commando, these 2 are Intellivoice carts: B-17 Bomer, Space Spartans, these are just games no boxes: Night Stalker, Space Battle, Tower of Doom, plus the Intellevision all for $20.00. The next one is the best, a Super Nintendo with 4 controllers and 17 games 2 with boxes: Super Black Bass(boxed), Championship Pool(boxed), International Tennis Tour, Star Fox, NHL Stanley Cup, The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past, Hole in One Golf, MLBPA Baseball, NHL '94, Super Play Action Football, Top Gear 2, Top Gear 3000, Super Mario Cart, Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong Country 3, and Madden NFL '95. All for $40.00. I also got 2 Atari power supplies for $2.00 each, and I'm supposed to call these people, they have 3 or 4 Atari 2600's and a "bunch" of games. I'll let you know what they have. Thanks, Tony

ATARIPITBULL #3 Posted June 9, 2002 Shortly after reading your post, I went to a local comic book store and found Defender II mint & sealed in the box and Titlematch pro wrestling loose and got them both for $5.00, now I can claim to have bought 2600 games in the wild and not on ebay. Tempest #8 Posted June 10, 2002 I picked up about 20 games for my NES collection, but no sign of any Atari stuff. This is a disturbing trend I've been seeing lately... Tempest
Atari freak 1 #9 Posted June 10, 2002 All I find are genesis games (loose/boxed)
The Piper #10 Posted June 10, 2002 I cant find a Commando for Atari, but I got it for NES and C64.Great game,Ive had it for my Nes since new.///// Atari 2600 stuff is rapidly disappearing now around here,no doubt about it.Most of the basements that have had Atari's stored there have been cleaned.Even the video game vendors at the fleas are all out of Atari,or anything rarer for it.I used to see at least one find for every 4 flea mkts,on a bad day.Now its like one for every 12 flea mkts, maybe worse.Only found 3 consoles total, and some(not many)common carts,1 console I got lucky, the collection had Miner 2049er 2,but I had to spend $35 for the lot.I havent missed a weekend of flea mkts yet this spring, and only a fraction of what I got 2 years ago for 2600.It used to seem like I'd be holding a box of Atari stuff, and buying another.Made lots of other great finds this year though.Im staying away from those Genesis games, heh heh heh,but now have taken up a classic Nintendo collection.(6 weeks ,over 200 games now!) King Asmo #11 Posted June 10, 2002 I haven't found *any* pre-NES stuff this summer in all the flea-markets and garage sales I've been to.. and I'm not alone. The other local collectors I know have had the same experience.. one found a bunch of Vic 20 carts, and the other one got 5 boxed Intellivision games. NES stuff, tho, is EVERYWHERE. I've picked up about 3 dozen systems and 200+ games in the last 6-8 weeks. Someone was saying that $2.00 for fairly common Atari games is too high, but given how the supply of 2600 stuff in the wild is rapidly drying up, I wouldn't be surprised to see games like Frogger, Q*Bert, and River Raid consistently selling for $5-6 in a couple years. Which would be okay by me, except for the fact that by then I'll probably be sold out of them all, and won't be able to find any more. KA

godsey1 #13 Posted June 14, 2002 Hi all, This is a follow-up on the stuff that I was going to look at. We went there yesterday, the box they had was 4 Atari's, 2 6 switcher's, 1 4 switcher, and a 5200. 16 controllers (14 joysticks and 2 sets of paddles). One of the joysticks has a small button on top of the stick that you use in game play. They got their games out and the only one that I needed was Jaw Braker, so all 4 systems and 16 controllers and JawBraker for $50.00. I know that's a little high, but the people looked like they needed the money, so what the hay???????????????????? Tony
