For me, it's Gumshoe hands down. The game is similar in premise to Crossbow and quite fun. Never beat it though.

Rescue Mission and Safari Hunt are really good. Oh, wait, we're talking about NES zapper games. Ewwwww, that's just gross.

lol, I was actually thinking of suggesting Safari Hunt as a joke. It is pretty fun.

As far as NES Zapper games, I never really played much of them other than the ubiquitous Duck Hunt. I played Operation Wolf, but didn't enjoy it. When I rented it my Zapper was broken, thanks to my step-brother, so I had to try playing it with the controller, using the pad to move crosshairs around. That sucked.

(BTW, did you know there is a "2 player" way to play Duck Hunt? On the single duck game, the second controller can be used to move the duck.)

I like Gumshoe, Wild Gunmen, and Duck Hunt. I heard good things about Freedom Force and Barker Bill's Trick Shooting, but I haven't played them. Oddly enough, Operation Wolf plays better without the light gun. I found out the JP Famicom version actually supports a track ball controller (hori track is the name of the controller, I think), which I would like to try since it might suit the game better.

I like those SMS light gun games quite a bit too. Gangster Town, Missile Defense 3D, and Shooting Gallery are also good stuff.

It is a practically on heard of game, but "To the Earth" is a cool space shooter. Probably my 2nd favorite zapper game.

Late to the party, but seconded -- this was my favorite NES light gun game. Damn hard also!

Freedom Force is still a personal favorite... it's an early NES release that nevertheless impresses with frantic action, a driving Sunsoft-brand soundtrack, and one of the coolest introductions in all of NES-dom. It's just a shame that the leader of the terrorist organization you're sworn to fight is a sad little nerd named Eugene Extreme. Who thought THAT was a good idea? Also, the power-ups are worthless, since they don't stay onscreen long enough for you to get them. Still, it's an awesome game and an absolute must-have if you've got an NES and a light gun compatible television.
