Need help with composite video.

Hi guys,

I tried to perform the Composite video mod. However it doesn't seem to be working out too well for me. The image kind of flickers onto the screen, sometimes in color & sometimes not. Then the screen usually disappears. Any help would be greatly appreciated (I want to teach my 6yr old how to play warlords). Thanks

Hello,

I was begining to think that no one was going to try to help me out - thanks.

I'm trying to do the composite video mod shown at the below link:

http://www.atariage.com/howto/composite.html

The wire isn't connected to the resistor, but it is connected to the silver circle at the bottom of the resistor. Maybe I'm not understanding the diagram correctly, I though that is what "C19" was.

I will try to take a better picture tonight when I get home.

Jeffslot, your image does not match the ASCII-matic from AA. The resistor that you are supposed to connect the jumper wire to is given by AA as color coded "Gold/Red/Grey/Blue" (BTW, this is backwards! The color bands should be read as blue-gray-red-gold {6.8k ohms, 5% tolerance}). The resistor you connected to is orange-orange-red-gold (3.3k ohms).

Whether this discrepancy is due to an error in the instructions, or your board being a different revision, I don't know. In any case, it's likely that you have a wrong connection point, and that moving that jumper wire to one end or the other of the 6.8k resistor to the right of the test point may give you the correct signal. If neither end of that resistor fixes the problem, you will need to track down the correct connection point by some other means.
