spacecadet #3 Posted March 9, 2006 A guy with 77.8% feedback doesn't deserve to get his $45 starting price for that, much less his $150 BIN. We'll see how much reputation on Ebay really counts.

shirleysswapshop #5 Posted March 9, 2006 (edited) what a jerk 1030506[/snapback] Is he a jerk because he didn't sell it on a side deal? He never would have known the value of the game..except some one or two three..tried to get a rare game on the side. I understand making side offers to a seller to split non bidded items and put a buy it now on them just to get a quick, cheap deal. However in some cases it does backfire..and the game gets listed due to the e-mails a seller received. It happened to me, when I listed an atari set for the first time and I included River Patrol in a group of other games. I received a tremendous amount of e-mails offering $50.00 to $150.00 for the game. I would have sold it in that lot except the collectors or resellers made me do a little research and that is how I found AA. A few of the e-mails were from folks here at AA by the way. If nobody sent me an email trying to buy it on the side and not list it here..it might have sold very cheap..however due to those offers it sold for over $400.00 and then I was hooked. So with that...it is not that sellers fault...it is the people who tried to get one over on him. Edited March 9, 2006 by shirleysswapshop

Not that I'm defending him, but 7 feedbacks isn't even a reputation yet.

I would bet you were not the only one who sent offers... I think alot of us..have gotten some decent deals that way..and I am sure others were educated in the process as well.. Chickybaby #10 Posted March 9, 2006 (edited) I just hate it when people sell items in a side deal and don't pull it from the auction so you think you are getting certain games which turn out to be different when you actually receive them. The other thing on my crap list is re-sellers in general and people who sell games that they don't even have, then expect you to wait when buying or they never test the game and just pass it down when it could be non-working or the quality poorer. Especially when you ask for more details about a game and the person reveals they don't have it in hand yet. Normally if I find out stuff like that I won't buy from them at all. Granted I don't "collect" games so much as enjoy playing lots of them and would rather support hombrew makers at this point then buy off Epay. It's also hard for me to trust people when buying sight unseen especially if the game is very expensive and the person not well known.
