+Omegamatrix #6 Posted March 10, 2006 I had a heart attack when I saw the price. What's the going rate anyway for one these carts loose? If Nfarj ever does sell one of these at his outrageous prices then I'm quiting my day job and selling on eBay for a living too.

jay2068 #8 Posted March 10, 2006 (edited) $50 roughly. 1031341 Guess that beats my .01 offer I left him on ebay. Edited March 10, 2006 by jay2068
TomBrazil #9 Posted March 10, 2006 I bought Tank Command from him (loose), but it was in an auction, so the price was fair. Anyway, he overcharged me on shipping mentioning some weird insurance costs which weren't in the shipping label. To finish, he refused to lower the declared value of the cart, so I paid a brutal tax here. I couldnt crucify him for this, however, since many people in US, including AA members, refuse to lower the declared value. I think this is stupid, but it's theme for another topic... Paranoid #10 Posted March 10, 2006 You should post this other topic, TomBrazil. I'd be interested in knowing why people are refusing to lower the declared value, what their justification is. It happens all the time here in privte party sales for used cars (because your registration and licensing is based on the sale price of the car). Of course, our customs police are now part of the homeland defense thing and just about EVERYTHING coming in or going out is gone over with a fine tooth comb. I recently got a package of candy bars from England and they had been opened and examined to make sure they weren't you know... chocolate scented plastic explosives, or some such. Hell, I sent a friend of mine in Germany a couple games worth over $400 dollars together two weeks ago and decliared it as a value of $50 bucks to save him the customs fees. If not then I will start lowering anything I declare on stuff I send out of the US.
Shawn #14 Posted March 11, 2006 (edited) I thought marking it as Gift took care of those taxes? If not then I will start lowering anything I declare on stuff I send out of the US. 1031740 Nope, even as a gift your only allowed to recived a certain value of goods before being "taxed" on it. It is different from each country also. Say I get a box worth $50 from france and another worth $50 from China, I could end up with both being audited by customs and not paying duty for the french package but end up paying for the Chinesse package even if it's the same thing in both boxes with the same value. Fucked up eh? Welcome to Canadain Law. But also remember when it comes to insurance purposes God forbid you package gets lost or damadged you can only claim agenst what your declared value is. So if you send $400 bucks worth of stuff and claim $50 you only get $50 bucks back on your $400 bucks worth of stuff. So best be sure both sides of the shipment agree its a good idea and a worth while (although not very much of but still a) risk. I'm so glad we don't have to deal with that here in the US.
TomBrazil #16 Posted March 11, 2006 Guys, this really deserves its own topic, here in Auction Central, cause this matters to a large group of collectors in the world. Come on, let's debate and inform people of that: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=84758
