How good is this Colecovision top 10 list?

Recommended Posts

It is at http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/top10/300.html.

I never owned one or played one. I was a bit shocked that ladybug wasn't on the list. This was not mine. I am a bit shock that gamefaqs did a top 10 on this.

The top ten is

10: BC's Quest for Tires

9: Ken Uston Blackjack-Poker

8: Defender

7: Q*bert

6: Carnival

5: Popeye

4: Rocky Super Action Boxing

3: Antarctic Adventure

2: Donkey Kong

1: Montezuma's Revenge

What should be the true top ten for colecovision games?

Hmmm, I think some games need to switched. Pepper II should be in there, Jumpman Jr., Venture, and Wargames. I also love Mousetrap and Looping. If you have Donkey Kong then you might as well include Donkey Kong Jr. as well. Defender is unbelievably good on the Colecovison! I'd take out Ken Uston's Blackjack-Poker, Carnival, Popeye, Rocky Super Action Boxing on that list to begin with.

Several of the best CV games are very rare and these top 10 lists often look like they're put together by people who have never played them or are unaware of them. What about: Up 'n' Down, Bump 'n' Jump, Burgertime, Spy Hunter, Galaxian, HERO, Lady Bug, Mr Do!, Mr Do's Castle, Qbert's Qubes, Sewer Sam, Frenzy, Tapper. Now that there's a flash multi-cart coming out, the rarity is a non-issue. Those up-coming Opcode releases like the Pac Man Collection look killer.

That list does not contain Gateway to Apshai. Therefore, it is crap. (just kidding!) :D

Spy Hunter definately needs to be in there, and I happen to think that Grog's Revenge is far better than Quest for Tires. And while I do like Montezuma's Revenge, it surely doesn't deserve the #1 spot.

Also, I would definately put 2010 in the list if I could, but I know that not many people have played this unusual (yet awesome) game, so I don't mind if other people go :?: .

Add a second vote for Frenzy, a nifty sequel to Berzerk. Is this game even on another system? Can't think of one.

As far as I can remember, Frenzy was Colecovision only. Always wondered how Atari snagged Berzerk but passed on Frenzy....

Frenzy definetly needs to be on there...Donkey Kong should be off, or at least towards the bottom. I'd also definetly add Galaxian, Venture, and Mousetrap and remove BC's quest, Ken Uston BJ-Poker, and Popeye...
