NightSprinter #1 Posted March 11, 2006 I've been having some trouble with a copy of Transbot for the Master System I have. I think it's suffering bit-rot, but I cannot get a game screen of any kind when trying to play it on either my Master System or my Genesis I with the Power Base Converter. Any reason it would act like this? Btw, for those of you wanting to know, it is a virtually complete copy: case, protective sleeve, catalog poster, and instructions. Tempest #2 Posted March 11, 2006 I've never heard of a Sega Card game going bad. Try cleaning the contacts really good. I suppose it could be damaged somehow, but not bit rotted (they don't have EPROMs). Tempest
8th lutz #3 Posted March 11, 2006 Did this screen issue happen to rest of sms games? I had a sms logo and thing showned up except for the built in game with sms 2or with sms with no game logo with some of the games time to time. I've never heard of such as thing before with the sms. Try cleaning it. If that doesn't work let us know for the fact those cards are about 19 to 20 years old now. If you have other sega card games try them to see if their is something wrong with the card slot.
Ze_ro #4 Posted March 11, 2006 From what I've heard, the card port on the SMS is notorious for getting dirty. I've had a lot of problems with mine too (In fact, I've never managed to get it to work). Since the port is almost impossible to stick things into, you may have to open up the system in order to clean it properly. Have you tried other card games? If you have others that DO work, then it might just be a matter of the card itself being dirty... try using a pencil eraser to clean the contacts. --Zero
NightSprinter #5 Posted March 11, 2006 Unfortunately, Transbot is the ONLY game I have for the system as a Sega Card.
