Infogrames to Atari

A few months ago I heard that Infogrames was going to change their name to Atari. In this month's Electronic Gaming there is one Infogrames game, "Transworld Surf" that has the Atari name and logo on it. I went to their website and there is no mention of Atari. Has Infogrames backed out on the name change and does anyone know what they plan to do with their newly acquired namesake?

Well, I'm actually embarrased to admit it, because we pump out a lotta crap here, but I work for Sennari interactive. Sennari's put out shit titles such as Bedrock Bowling for the PSX and Powerpuff Girls for Gameboy color, fortunately I wasn't working here when those were made.

They're definitely doing something, they proposed to the game studio I work at that we do a GBA combat game for them. I don't know if we're doing it or not, but we don't seem to be starting production on it.

I know Infogrames is changing thier name to Atari, but when are they doing it? (it would be cool to see the new DBZ titles with the Atari logo)

I have a friend that works at a computer game developer. He said their were putting together a proposal to remake Xcom for Infogrames and that it was to be released unter the Atari banner...

I used to work in the industry as well, one thing you learn quick though, even pumping out crap brings the paycheck in.

 

Also its alot easier to get projects going when you're not asking for big $$$$ budgets as well. Downside, well, you're pumping out crap

I'm just wondering if they're going to redo the cover art for MX-Rider . The MX-Rider ad in the Nov 2001 issue of the Official US Playstation Magazine doesn't have the Atari logo on the box shot... BUT.. the red area that has 4 screenshots on the left side (it's a 2-page ad inside the back cover) DOES have the Atari logo.. as the first A in "ATTACK" .. and there's no mention of the Atari Fuji in the fine print on either page.
