Godzilla #1 Posted March 13, 2006 Is there any way to get a wireless 2600 joystick port going ? (9 pin,) so it would work with obviously, hopefully, any 9 pin jstick system...? possibly using this: http://www.socketcom.com/product/CS0400-479.asp?View=Specs or something else? anyone know? Thanks again! If this is already addressed somewhere, just point me :-)

Godzilla #3 Posted March 13, 2006 I guess I should have warded off smart ass replies like that by ACCENTING the fact that I was referring to PORTS and that I already have more of those useless things than I know what to do with. So, like a jostick port extender, but all wireless-like and stuff.
sku_u #4 Posted March 13, 2006 I'm sure it's doable using the wireless box I posted and by modifying other controllers to recognize that signal, but I don't know of a way to make a universal extender like the one you linked to work on a 2600. I'm not sure about later 9-pin systems like the 7800 and SMS.
Jacob Rose #5 Posted March 15, 2006 http://www.socketcom.com/product/CS0400-479.asp?View=Specs Serial ports only use a few of the Dsub9 pins, so that's never going to work. Maybe if you found one for a parallel port?
Godzilla #6 Posted March 16, 2006 http://www.coolerexpress.com/blbtblwipapo.html so how would that work? would I have to shave some plastic basically so i could plug a 9 pin onto it? would it even fit? (the pins line up to the holes right, etc.) looks like theoretically, there are enough pins on the par port to support both jports in one adaptor... 2 9 pin jstick xtension cords could plug into the wireless adaptor then at the other end convert out to get 2 female 9 pin ports... it needs to carry 'send and recieve' (or whatever its called in geek,) on all 9 x 2 (16) pins, right? [Whole block of text on how this might be done deleted] Um, yeah, on second thought - these are BLUETOOTH adapters. Unless you want to write a lot of software, this is a non-starter, and even then, it might not be possible, depending on how they implemented it. Since it says it's for printers, it's likely to be a print server rather than a bluetooth-tunneled parallel port. BTW, I was lucky to stumble onto some of the controllers sku_u pointed out. They are pretty nice, and work great with rechargeable NiMH 9V batteries! Edited March 16, 2006 by Jacob Rose
