Flojomojo #1 Posted March 14, 2006 Check it out: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=63226 Judging from the pictures, it looks like GameGear games in emulation. I'd prefer something programmable, but for built-in games, SEGA is as good as we can hope for! Until Nintendo makes one, of course ...
JagFan422 #2 Posted March 14, 2006 There are portable dvd players for your car that run NES emulation, but as for MP3 players, not sure yet, but google Gamepark XGP mini. If this does see the light of day, it could be the ultimate in small, portable media and emulation.
Flojomojo #3 Posted March 14, 2006 Especially if XGP Mini is really GP32 compatible!
JagFan422 #4 Posted March 14, 2006 the only thing that will be compatible is the commercial games, they are going to remake them. The emulators and homebrew will not be compatible. That was some major mis information from one of my fellow forum members over at gp32x.com that got really misconstrued.
Flojomojo #5 Posted March 14, 2006 Not sure how that device would be the "ultimate" in anything emulation-related if it's not open to homebrew developers, then...
JagFan422 #6 Posted March 14, 2006 (edited) nobody said that it wouldn't be open to homebrew developement, nobody has said it would, all we know is that it just won't be compatible with GP32 software, so the programs will need ported over, or made from scratch if homebrew is supported. Or even if its not, there will probably be enough of a fan base from the GP32 owners that it probably wouldn't take long to get cracked for homebrew. If it does support the homebrew, your going to have a system that is as small as the GBA micro, with alot more under the hood as well as doing MP3s and i'm sure video. Flojomojo #7 Posted March 15, 2006 And even in the worst case, we've still got the GBA Micro (which is a pretty nice emu platform itself if you have a flash card), as well as the thing in the title of this thread!
