+johnnywc #1 Posted March 17, 2006 Hello all, I've recently bought a few compilation disks for the Xbox: Midway Arcade Treasures 1, Atari 80-in-1, Namco 50th Anniversary and Taito Legends. All are fantastic and it got me thinking about what other companies should do this and Konami seems like a no brainer: Amidar Blades of Steel Bottom of the Ninth Castlevania Circus Charlie Contra Double Dribble Gradius Green Beret Gyruss Hyper Sports Jungler Juno First Roc'n Rope Rush'n Attack Scramble Super Cobra Time Pilot '84 Track & Field Yie Ar Kung-Fu A pretty good compilation if it ever happened... I also noticed that Frogger and the original Time Pilot are included on the Konami TV Arcade stick - does Konami have the rights to these games now (from Sega and Centuri, respectivelly)? Has anyone heard anything about something like this coming out for the XBOX (or any other compilations, for that matter)? Thanks!
Classic Pac #2 Posted March 17, 2006 They did do one for the PS1 Konami Arcade Classics Pooyan Circus Charlie Shao-Lin's Road Roc 'N Rope Yie Air Kung-Fu Scramble Road Fighter Super Cobra Gryuss Time Pilot
+johnnywc #3 Posted March 17, 2006 (edited) They did do one for the PS1 Konami Arcade Classics Pooyan Circus Charlie Shao-Lin's Road Roc 'N Rope Yie Air Kung-Fu Scramble Road Fighter Super Cobra Gryuss Time Pilot Thanks! Unfortunately - I sold my PS1 years ago (to get the XBOX! ). Plus, I think a collection with more games could be done with the number of games included on the current compilations. I see Pooyan in there - that was a Stern game - and Time Pilot was from Centuri. Does Konami own the rights to the Stern/Centuri catalog or were these licensed exclusively for this collection? Also - KLOV lists Tutankham as a Stern/Konami release - I wouldn't mind having that on a collection! Thanks again for the info. figgler #4 Posted March 17, 2006 There's a really great Konami compilation for GBA if you have one it includes original and remixed versions of Yie Air Kung-Fu Scramble Gryuss Time Pilot Rush n Attack Frogger It's solid and cheap too
Atariboy #5 Posted March 17, 2006 (edited) I believe Pooyan is all Konami, Stern just had the US rights to produce and distribute the arcade version. "I also noticed that Frogger and the original Time Pilot are included on the Konami TV Arcade stick - does Konami have the rights to these games now (from Sega and Centuri, respectivelly)?" KLOV entry for Time Pilot says "LICENSOR: Konami". So looks like they always owned Time Pilot and Centuri just licensed it for the US? And Konami created Frogger. +DamonicFury #6 Posted March 17, 2006 Konami would be my first choice for a new arcade compliation as well (make mine a PC version, please.) After them, how about Sega? (Zaxxon, Carnival, Congo Bongo, Subroc, Pengo, etc?)
NE146 #7 Posted March 17, 2006 After them, how about Sega? (Zaxxon, Carnival, Congo Bongo, Subroc, Pengo, etc?) I know Congo Bongo (and Head-On for that matter) are in the Sega Ages 2500 compilation 'Course in the Sega Ages tradition it has a 'remixed' version of them too: There are larger pics on that site... Thanks for the info Atariboy - it looks like I have to do a little better research! Anyway - it looks like a Konami collection would be fantastic. Adding in Frogger, Time Pilot and Pooyan would be a boost. Heck - just Frogger alone would make the thing sell like hotcakes!
NovaXpress #9 Posted March 17, 2006 Konami didn't produce machines until around the crash, until then Konami games were licensed to other manufacturers: Amidar by Stern Blades of Steel Bottom of the Ninth Circus Charlie by centuri Gyruss by Mylstar Hyper Sports by centuri Jungler by Stern Juno First by Gottlieb Scramble by Stern Super Cobra by Stern Track & Field by Centuri

Student Driver #11 Posted March 19, 2006 Konami's MSX titles are also well-worth playing; there's a Japanese Saturn compilation of 30 MSX releases. Also allows the novelty of playing the MSX conversions of a few of their arcade titles...
