Colecovision fuzzy screen problem

Recommended Posts

:? Hi,all,I have a problem with my Colecovision. The rca, cable,I think its called, that goes from the right corner of the coleco to the tv/game switchbox, just the slightest movement or touch of that cable will cause the game screen to get all fuzzy with snow and static.I noticed that the port that the rca cable goes into ,on the coleco,is loose, just touching it and wiggling it around will fix the fuzzy screen, but as soon a I move console or touch cable,or even pull the hand controller to much, the screen goes bad again,i figured maybe,to somehow glue or solder the port to the casing so it is solid, easier said than done, first,I cant solder worth a crap, and second, how the HELL do you solder it in the GOOD position?as soon as i got solder on,it would move and solder in the bad position, and end up with a permanent snowstorm on the game screen, which meant de-soldering it,I just left it un soldered, maybe it's loose wires inside?Any suggestions on alternative ways to fix this reeeeeally annoying problem?Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!! The RF jack has 2 solder points; the center conductor and the shield. Your best bet is to disassemble the casing, remove the board from it, and open up the RF box to do any rework necessary.
