Sega Pico

Recommended Posts

On my weekly thrift run, I stumbled across a Sega Pico. As far as I can determine, this was more of an educational system than a video game -- though one cartridge is titled Sonic's Game World.

How easy is it to find carts? This is the first time I've ever seen one?

If anybody in the Edmonton-area wants it, its at the Goodwill in Strahcona, in the toy section. The price is about $30 and the box is well sealed, so I can't tell if its complete or if more games are included.

I've actually seen the system several times, but the games are rare. Actually the pods are rare too, but I don't know what games used them.

I remember Funco Land having these systems either when the first opened in my area or a few years later, i remember asking about it and read the box (yes there was one in its original box Shocking huh?) and read it was a educational type system and the only titles they had was the educational kind

back then i wanted anything by sega, i saw this system but i passed on this sega product because i didnt want to become smarter

Last time I checked, Ames department stores were liquidating their inventory of Sega Pico units. Ames is a discount store franchise that has many stores in the Northeast U.S.

It's really not that hard to come across. It's essentially a Sega Master System posing as an educational machine. I also think that www.VGLQ.com may actually sell the unit and games/modules. It's really not that rare of an item...

It seems that they still sell it but they want $60 for it and I think that is a little high.

I've seen Pico's go for $20. I'm sure if you did a search on the net you'd find dealers that charge less for these. VGLQ was the only site I could think of that had these at the time I wrote my response.
