Does a PAL version of Imagic's Shootin' Gallery exist?

I don't believe so. I remember reading it was one of the few Imagic games without a PAL release. I wonder why that is?

I don't know, but I found out that Sky Patrol contains some Shootin' Gallery code AND this code is obviously PAL. :)

Really? How much code? I don't see any relation between the two games.

About 25%. Most likely the EPROM was used for Shootin' Gallery PAL before and the unused parts where kept intact.

Hmmm guess I'll have to change that in me menu then... any idea what game the PAL version I uploaded here actually is then?

I've never heard of nor seen a PAL Shooting Gallery. If it does exist, it's a very rare cart :)

Now we know that a PAL release was at least scheduled. So maybe a cart exists. :)

I dunno...that's a big maybe. I'd just guess that one borrowed heavily from the other. Especially since each game was programmed by different people. Without sources, how could you tell between written and edited?

There are parts of code inside the 1st bank of Sky Patrol which are unused by the prototype (usually at the end of a page). Those parts contain 1:1 Shootin' Gallery code, except for the color values, which are adapted to PAL values. IMO that's a pretty positive evidence.

According to www.atarimania.com there are quite a few southamerican Shootin' Gallery PAL-M releases. Unfortunately none of them seem to have been dumped yet. I wonder, if those hacks are based on the NTSC or on the lost(?) PAL version. :ponder:

Brazil has cartridges of some manufacturers with this game. The name of the game can be a little different in the cartridge because the companies modified.

In Brazil the system of color from TV is PAL-M, similar to the NTSC because the frequency also is 60 Hertz (60 Hz). Brazil is the only country of the world that uses system PAL-M.

The console internally is NTSC, exists an alteration for the PAL-M through a decoder in the plate of circuit and the change of the 'crystal'.

The cartridges below are NTSC but manufactured in Brazil, also appears the name "Imagic" in the TV. I tested with an original Atari Jr. and the image was perfect. (NTSC)

In the cartridge of the manufacturer "Videospot" the name of the game is 'Shotting Gallery' and in the one of the manufacturer "Datasoft" the name of the game is 'Shooting Galery'.

I have cartridges with some games (type 32 in 1) that they has this game.

I don't have as to make this. Forgives for delay to answer.

The image from TV is the same one of the manufacturer "Imagic".

Excellent day for you.
