ubersaurus #1 Posted December 20, 2001 Man, my ma came home tonight with a bag full of stuff for me. And what did I find? A Sega Master System with 3 games with boxes and books, the hook up cables, controllers, lightgun, owners manual and original papers, all this she got for free! My cousin in law was cleaning out his attic and gave them to me

Atari-Jess #4 Posted December 20, 2001 I have the lightgun games but how do you access the hidden games? all mine does when you turn it on with no games is tell you to put one in. I still haven't found any card games for it yet, just 9 carts in total, 2 with plastic cases!
liquid_sky #5 Posted December 20, 2001 ok.. when you get that screen telling you to put a game in, hold down button 1 and 2 on your controller in port 1. While holding these down, press UP on the control pad. Its not that exceptional of a game, but its still neat to know.
ubersaurus #6 Posted December 20, 2001 Hey, cool, I'm gonna try that out. In fact, on that note, does anyone know of a place around here that sells SMS games? I'm lookin for those Alex Kidd ones. Sega's original mascot was quality. Also wouldn't hurt finding sonic and phantasy star, though I know that one will cost a pretty penny.

liquid_sky #10 Posted December 20, 2001 Not quite the hang-on is it? Off-tpic.. but does ANYONE have the safari hunt-hang on rom? I never got to play it back in the SMS days, and ive been curious about what safari hunt is, what it looks like, and how it plays. Hang-on on the other hand.. whewwww it got worn out. Atari-Jess #11 Posted December 20, 2001 i can tell you basically what its like, you use the lightgun (duh) there are your bullets on the bottom of the screen from left to right in a row, there is a background pic with grass, a lake and trees and animals hop out and fly around, fish jump out of the water when shot they turn to skeletons, birds turn to plucked and no heads with a bandage and rabbits just go away, they hop at the bottom of the screen. liquid_sky #12 Posted December 21, 2001 Sounds pretty cool... looks like i gotta get me a gun.. and locate an sms with it built in so i can give it a go
Atari-Jess #13 Posted December 21, 2001 The SMS does have better graphics than the NES does, Just look at some of the sonic games, pure genius quality graphics, if you haven't played sonic in a long long time you would almost think that they were the genesis games. liquid_sky #14 Posted December 21, 2001 The best comparison in system power is to line up NES Double Dragon with SMS Double Dragon... wow.. thats all I have to say
ubersaurus #15 Posted December 21, 2001 I haven't gotten the chance to hook it up to something, finding a tv I can reach is needed, as most of mine in my room are hooked up to the max from consoles. It has Shanghai, Miracle Warriors, and the lightgun's 2 game combo pak, which I don't feel like digging in the bag to relocate ;p
Lemmi #16 Posted December 21, 2001 OOOOO Miracle Warriors thats a good RPG for the SMS, i hope it has the map cause it helps alot I have the map but not the Manual

liveinabin #18 Posted December 21, 2001 The SMS also has, imo, the best version of Ghostbusters. Ubersaurus, if thst SMS came packaged with the light-gun originally, it's odds-on you're just going to have the snail 'game' built in - That's the Master System plus pack. ubersaurus #19 Posted December 21, 2001 It's worth a test drive as soon as I find the opportunity to hook it up.
