8th lutz #1 Posted March 27, 2006 (edited) I am wondering because dp has one the results of theirs is starting to show. Theirs was made from every using choosing 25 games they think are the great in an order with the lists being pm. Their results are found http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=82308. They didn't show all of their yet. I think if one should happen here should have some changes from the one over there. JB #2 Posted March 27, 2006 I vote no. Greatest Asterisk Ever lists exist for 2 purposes. 1: generate extra "news". 2: flamebait. It's absolutely relative, and you won't get 2 people to agree to a list, much less the whole world. Hell, my top * varies from week to week.

They're so much fun and cause so many bitter feuds! I'm all for it. I love the random pointlessness of the whole thing. Seriously, I would put in my votes. JB #4 Posted March 27, 2006 Fine. I vote Beat 'Em and Eat 'Em for all whatever # of entries.
liveinabin #5 Posted March 27, 2006 You always get a predictable outcome with these things. All of the really groundbreaking original titles peak in the low 20s, after which you get the general crowd pleasers that most agree on liking. So number one is invariably a Zelda or Mario game. I don't see what point there'd be in going through all this again.
chrisbid #6 Posted March 27, 2006 as long as voters do not get to rank their choices
+kisrael #7 Posted March 27, 2006 You might be interested in this: http://www.kisrael.com/vgames/powerlist/ It's a summary of the following Top 100s: EGM '97 '02, GI '01, IGN '03 and '05 You can view any subset of those, including viewing each list one at a time. Tetris is the alltime winner, always making it in the top 4.
sku_u #8 Posted March 27, 2006 If you guys can settle on a fair way to tally the results, go for it. Create a new thread asking your question and I'll pin it. No polls. Just people putting up their top 10 lists. You can go back and edit the initial post in the thread as people write their answers...
8th lutz #9 Posted March 27, 2006 if one were to happen, I agree with not having the voters to rank their choices. The second would be having voters be able to vote up to 50 games.
