That would most likely be the ol' 72 pin connector. An all too typical problem with the NES. Over time, the metal pins the cart slides into inside your NES become loose and no longer make good contact with the game.

Fixin' your 72 pin connector

I'm not necessarily saying you should buy a replacement from these guys (I've never used them (nor heard of them 'til a moment a go)), but they do show you how to replace it. Do a search on "72 pin connector nintendo" on google and you're sure to find tons of info and people selling 'em. I got mine from eBay and it works no problem (kind of a snug fit, tho.)

There are also a couple of sites that show you how to fix it yourself by bending the pins to create better contact. It's a royal pain, though, and didn't work when I did it (probably 'cuz I did it wrong.)

alright i trie and get another 72 pin connector in a few months ( just got a computer lol)

Just open it up and soak the connector in rubbing alcohol, or at least scrub it with a toothbrush. It will work for a while again. Its easy. Unscrew the bottom, lift off the top, unscrew the metal plate, unscrew the cart inserter, slide out the cart slot. Scrub with rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush for a temp solution for about a couple months if the carts are clean, my favorite pernament solution is sandpaper, although not too many recommend it. In my personal experience, sandpaper has worked 100% of the time, and has lasted a LOT longer than rubbing alcohol alone. Sand, then scrub with rubbing alcohol, put together and enjoy a non blinking NES for months to come.

My NES started to blink quite badly. I took out the pin connector and pushed the pins back in place with a screwdriver. Works great now. I've also heard some of the third party replacement pin connectors out there are tighter then the NES ones. They will cause more wear and tear on your valuable games inserting them all the time.
