Interesting gaming documentary on cable

Recommended Posts

Heyla

There was an interesting gaming documentary on one of the cable channels (fly channel, optus, in .au).

The most interesting point, was that it was very accurate (from what I understand). They ran through a quite good timeline of the important systems (atari 2600 made it, as were mentions of the st's), though for my tastes, it should have been more detailed. (but then, what do you expect for half an hour's worth of air time).

They also did surveys of people on the street to see 'what your favorite videogame is'... the vast majority of the people they showed were simply going for modern ps2, gba, etc..., but they showed this couple (who looked like tourists ), and one said 'Bubble Bobble', and the other named Donkey Kong as their favorite.

If they ever show it again (I missed the first half, and only saw it due to my channel surfing), I'll tape it and post it somewhere on the web for you all to see (and pick the s**t out of ).

doubt it. I see little chance of it being on free-to-air television down here.

But, I still channel surf to that channel a lot, so I may be able to snag it on tape soonish.

The arcade version of Bubble Bobble is the best! The NES version didn't do it justice. They released the Arcade version on the PS and I bought it. It rules! Too bad I sold my PlayStation. Well, at lease I have Virtual Game Station on my iMac.
