+Cobra Kai #2 Posted April 7, 2006 Congrats on your purchase. I'm a recent owner of the DS as well. Here's what I own currently, and they are all really good games: -Nintendogs -Trauma Center -Metroid Prime Pinball -Tetris DS -Nanostray (2.5d shooter!, great graphics)
Lord Helmet #3 Posted April 7, 2006 There are several threads out there like this one. that said, I would get Advance Wars DS ASAP
NE146 #4 Posted April 7, 2006 To me, Mario Kart is one of the purest fun DS games.
Gregory DG #5 Posted April 7, 2006 To me, Mario Kart is one of the purest fun DS games. Agreed. It really does show off what the DS can do. So does Metroid.
Atarifever #6 Posted April 7, 2006 Yashi Touch and Go is on my best games of all time list.
Jess Ragan #7 Posted April 7, 2006 I'm having fun with Phoenix Wright, which I found used for $18 at a local game store. It's all the challenge of solving mysteries and defending your clients, coupled with all the excitement of a Japanese action cartoon. When Phoenix discredits someone's alibi, you hear the sound of a samurai sword slashing through flesh as the witness desperately scrambles to regain his composure! It's so completely outrageous you just can't help but love it. JR
Red 5 #8 Posted April 7, 2006 The under-rated Pac Pix !
liveinabin #9 Posted April 7, 2006 I love Animal Crossing (although you need to read up on it before you get it - it'll either appeal to you or it won't), Electroplankton and Nintendogs. Oh, and get Feel the Magic if it's cheap, a really good way to play with all the special features of your new DS. But if you want games in the traditional sense, then Sonic Rush is pretty damn good. Best Sonic game since Sonic CD.
figgler #10 Posted April 7, 2006 Sonic Rush is pretty damn good. Best Sonic game since Sonic CD. Better even. I'd say it's the best Sonic yet. Yes, I like it better than Sonic 2. Here's my current collection, I'd whole heartedly recommend each title; Bomberman Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Feel the Magic XX/XY Mario Kart DS Meteos Metroid Prime Hunters Metroid Prime Pinball Mr Driller: Drill Spirits Pac & Roll Pac Pix Sonic Rush Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Super Mario 64 DS Super Princess Peach Tetris DS Yoshi Touch & Go
AtariJr #11 Posted April 7, 2006 I have and love the ones below: Castlevania DS Mario Kart DS Nanostray Asphault Urban GT Animal Crossing Wild World Metroid Prime Hunters Feel the Magic Trauma Center Meteos Mario
sega saturn x #12 Posted April 7, 2006 When Phoenix discredits someone's alibi, you hear the sound of a samurai sword slashing through flesh as the witness desperately scrambles to regain his composure! Now there's a sound effect I don't remember. Any way I say go for phoenix too, and trauma center. Can't forget castlevania and advanced wars as well. Clint Thompson #14 Posted April 8, 2006 Pac Pix was hilariously fun for me.... is Brain Age out yet? That game looks like a blast.
compacho #15 Posted April 8, 2006 (edited) Super monkey ball!!! The title screen alone is worth the purchase. For those who have the game don't spoil it. Played brain age. It definately lives up to the hype. Edited April 8, 2006 by compacho
King_Salamon #16 Posted April 8, 2006 I have to take my DS to EB and download the demo of BRain Age and check this one out! Looks awesome!
AtticGamer #17 Posted April 8, 2006 Get Super Mario 64 DS, Super Princess Peach, The Urbz and don't forget GBA games like Super Mario Advance 2 and The Legend Of Zelda: A Link to the past. My advice is not to get anything by capcom (unless you want frustration).
Jess Ragan #18 Posted April 8, 2006 I've got just one thing to say to that... JR
King_Salamon #19 Posted April 9, 2006 Other than Resident Evil... what else has Capcom released for the DS anyways?
n8littlefield #20 Posted April 9, 2006 Phoenix Wright - which I just finished last night and was one of the greatest gaming experiences of my life. Also they made a Megaman game, but it was more of a GBA plus type of game (the real new Megaman for it comes out later this year.) Finally, they made Viewtiful Joe which is great if you like the series. I bought it and already sold it as I'm just not a fan. Phoenix Wright was amazing though.
