+Omegamatrix #1 Posted April 10, 2006 I have a Malagia prom chip, and Cpuwiz has helped me out by saying that I can just solder it to any old Pac-Man board. Truth be told I would prefer to use a new board to make it nice and clean though. I was wondering if the boards in the AA store would work for this prom chip as well? The Malagia prom chip has twelve pins on each side. http://www.atariage.com/store/index.php?ma...products_id=211 These look easy to use, but I was also wondering about: http://www.atariage.com/store/index.php?ma...products_id=217 Since the socket makes this board wider I was wondering if there was a shell it would fit better into? I say a picture of MattG/Snyper2099's Gauntlet chip and he had it in an Imagic shell. What I like about the socket is I'm leaving the prom chip in it's original state. Shawn #2 Posted April 10, 2006 (edited) 7800 shell works with a socket alot better than a 2600 shell but its still a snug fit. EDIT: And no the AtariAge board will not work as it is designed for a 2732 and your chip is a 2532 totally different pin out. Actually, they are 2332's (23C32's to be precise) and they are just pin-compatible, but the enable line is inverted.
