8th lutz #1 Posted April 11, 2006 (edited) Here is the link http://gamepolitics.livejournal.com/256026...54266#t19754266. The ip matches to my understanding. This is what Jack wrote there: TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: When I married the love of my life, I got in that blessed transaction more than I bargained for. I got another family—my wife’s parents and siblings—in addition to my blood relatives, and I have grown to love them beyond words. They love me back more than I deserve. My biggest “fan” in all that I have done against the entertainment industry, and against their lawyers, is my wife’s younger sister, Pamela Claire. She lives in the Midwest with her loving husband and their two children. Pam often sends me news of the entertainment industry’s latest assault upon her children’s world. One Christmas holiday, Pam’s son returned from a neighbor’s house, at the age of 12, saying “Mom, Jimmy and I had sex with a prostitute and then killed her to get our money back!” My sister-in-law’s “mistake” was to let her son go to a neighbor’s house. Take Two, the maker of the Grand Theft Auto game which he played with his friend, couldn’t care less about its reckless assault upon children, stealing their innocence behind their parents’ backs, behind Pam’s back. She was angry. She asked me to act on her anger. I have. Pam wants me, for all the parents out there who are being ambushed by Rockstar’s child molesting games, to stop Take-Two. With Pam’s encouragement and by God’s grace, we are well on our way to do just that. This is why for 18 years I have done what I do. There are all sorts of “Pams” out there. They often write and thank me. Pam always thanks me. Pam was diagnosed with breast cancer several years ago. She beat it. Until now. It is back, I learned this morning, and it is in her chest cavity. She has started the chemo—again. We don’t know what will happen, but with Pam’s blessing I am writing you, my enemies, to tell you all something. Pam wants me to let you all know—all of the scoundrels who seek to harm me and what I do—video game companies, vigilante video gamers who celebrate their “pixelante” status by threatening to kill or otherwise harm me with Bar complaints and other childish abuse, including now the sale of “Jack Thompson Toilet Paper” at a video game site, ethically-challenged, self-righteous entertainment industry lawyers, politically-motivated judges who forgot why they took their oaths of office in Alabama and elsewhere, Constitution-shredding Bars, the whole lot of you, that she wants me to win all my battles against all of you and thus against the porn and the violence distributed to children that you facilitate. Pam knows why I do what I do, and she knows the price I have paid. She prays for me, and she prays against you. That is a frightening prospect. This woman makes Lance Armstrong look like a wimp. The prayers of a righteous woman availeth much. The price I have paid for what I do is not even close to the price Pam has paid to try to keep on living, so that she can raise and protect her children as best she can. The price she has paid does not match , however, to the price our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ paid for all of us on a Cross. She knows that. When she was first diagnosed with breast cancer, she cried out “Lord why me?” Quicker than I would have, Pam got to the point of literally saying to God, “Lord, why not me?” I love my sister in law. She loves me. She has always encouraged me to fight on, against all of you. She is my hero. She is my role model. I will not let her down. I now dedicate this fight, this “culture war” in which I am privileged to serve as a foot solder—to her, to Pamela Claire, my sister in law who has never given up. I think he might be blaming videogames as way to blame his sister'n laws cancer in his way of explaining. I think he is nuts. Why hasn't this guy be prevented to do law in every state yet? JB #4 Posted April 12, 2006 I think he might be blaming videogames as way to blame his sister'n laws cancer in his way of explaining. I think he is nuts. Why hasn't this guy be prevented to do law in every state yet? I don't think he's licensed to practice law in many states. And he HAS been disbarred before. I'm surprised it hasn't happened again, but... It'd be nice if the media just ignored this idiot. Indeed. But he's got shock value. They don't really care about facts, fiction, or reality. Just the ratings. And "ZOMG VIDEO GAEMS AM MAEKING TEH HORNY KILLARS!111" is better news than "So yeah, some moron parent bought their 6-year-old kid a copy of Grand Theft Auto, then threw a hissy fit because the ESRB rating and content descriptors on the back were accurate indicators of the game's content. And some teens were taking potshots at passing cars because they're idiots."
Jess Ragan #5 Posted April 12, 2006 The man is a true fool, stooping to the lowest of hyperbole and emotional blackmail in order to force his will on others. He's lost the trust and respect of even those who once called him an ally, and it won't be long before the entire country tunes out this lunatic. For me, that time can't come soon enough. maibock #6 Posted April 12, 2006 It's easy as parents to think in a narrow view that all the wrongs in the world are out to get your children. It's a natural instinct to protect your young ones, as there is some merit in keeping your child out of harms way. The danger here, is that Pam seems to be focusing her rage in the wrong direction. Why isn't she talking to her kid, to let him know that such games aren't good for 12 year olds to play? Why isn't she involved with the friend's parents to see the type of house they run? It's redundant to say, but these games aren't meant to be play by kids, just like 'R' rated movies aren't meant to be seen by the same kids. I can see their points being valid, if there were no "kid friendly" games, but the majority of games are in fact rated teen and under. An article I read a few days ago stated that 13% of games made were "M" or "AO" rated. These people need to start parenting and quit blaming others.. Atarifever #7 Posted April 12, 2006 (edited) Well, that is just the worst thing I've ever seen...ever. So, this woman who, sadly, has cancer, lets her kids hang out at a house where the parents ignore ERSB warnings and let their kids cyber bang hookers. That is, somehow, the game industry's fault. Also, for some reason her battle with cancer is also a battle against the game industry. Right. Why that's hardly crazy in any way at all. Here's the part of the arguement I really don't get (well, aside from what her cancer has to do with games), how is it the videogame industry's fault that some other kid's parents let their children play M rated games? Would it be Draino's fault if those parents let their kids drink Draino and then Pam's kids had decided to down a glass as well? By the way, you all know why he did this right? This is bait. Some dumb 13 year old gamers are going to write him and say things like "I hope she dies", "Pam is probably a [something insulting] anyway", etc. Then, Jack can go on TV with tears in his eyes and talk about how this time the "game industry" has gone too far. The sad thing is that that means he's using his dying sister for some cheap publicity. Edited April 12, 2006 by Atarifever
JB #8 Posted April 12, 2006 Would it be Draino's fault if those parents let their kids drink Draino and then Pam's kids had decided to down a glass as well? Of course not. It would be the video game industry's, because Mario is a plumber.

Atarifever #11 Posted April 15, 2006 (edited) He is now suing the florida Bar Association. The link is http://www.gamespot.com/news/6147678.html. That damn Florida bar! When will they learn that it is not alright to get a lawyer who has shown signs of insanity to take tests to ensure he is fit to pursue matters of national interest in a court of law! This man has important work to do, like lying about EA sanctioned nudity in the SIMS and trying to insult women by calling them lesbians during serious political debates. I say we're the crazy ones for questioning him. Edited April 15, 2006 by Atarifever
