Which do you prefer of these 2600 games?

I like alot of army type games and do have these for the 2600.

 

Commando

 

Frontline (Taito)

 

Ikari Warriors

 

I like all of them, but prefer Ikari Warriors the best.

 

Just wanted to hear some others opinions on these.

I have always been a big Commando fan myself, Now that Ikari Warriors has come down to a realistic price I think I will pick that up next. Frontline is an O.K. game but not my favorite.

I like Commando next of the three, but damn Commando is hard. Much easier on the 7800

I wonder if anyone could improve the collision detection in Front Line? It's a decent game in its own right, but it would be better with some attention.

Front Line easily (for me).

...and I never had a problem with

it's hit detection or anything either.

Commando is okay but like with IKARI

I'd rather play those on the 7800 anyhow.

Of course the 7800 versions of Commando and Ikari are better than the 2600 ones, but you have to admit the 2600 ones are pretty impressive. Wish someone would have thought about Frontline for the 7800.

Get it because it is a must have. You won't be disappointed in the 7800 version. Sound is Excellent with the pokey chip in game too. I like it FAR better than the NES version too. This game can be picked up cheap if just cart only too. I'd say between $12.00-$15.00 for it, plus shipping. If you get this one, get Alien Brigade too. Just like it with far more details in graphics too. I have a copy of this game for trade or sale too.(Alien Brigade)

Don't do it!! Get the 7800 version of Commando and 7800 Alien Brigade for Army Fun. Let me know when you get the 7800. I'll hold Alien Brigade till last to put up for sale. That'll give you a couple weeks.

I have commando for the INTV,(pretty good)frontline for the CV,(great,great ,great)still trying to find the 2600 versions of those games,they're 2 of my favorite game for those systems,good or bad on the 2600?...doesnt matter to me really,i just dont expect them to be that great on the 2600

They are both done quite well for the 2600 and are 2 of my favorite games for the system. You will not be disappointed on the 2600 ones.
