ubersaurus #51 Posted February 13, 2002 I saw that. Final Fantasy isn't worth that, I can tell you. I got it for free, and I'm not sure it's worth that much! I can't stand that game. Dragon Warrior was so much better. And Earthbound Zero. Wish Nintendo would let us sell THAT at a gaming convention.
Lemmi #52 Posted February 13, 2002 Oh and dont bother going to the Funcolands in Detroit, i went to the one on 8 mile (since i was in the area) and ALL there games look like they were found in the trash, they were all dirty and the contacts you could hardly tell they had any, all the dirt and corrosion on them was pittiful

+-^CrossBow^- #56 Posted February 18, 2002 BUMP!!! Lemmi...look at the new scan...I cleaned her up for ya...and tested it last night. The cart seems to work just fine. I am getting scrambled game graphics...but I blame my NES connector..and not the game. Still, I will send you my receipt that way you can exchange the game at your local Funco should anything go goofy with it. Enjoy!
Lemmi #57 Posted February 18, 2002 Thanks Crossbow, It seems common with the camerica games to have scrambled graphics from time to time even with my top loader NES it happens. Thank you

+-^CrossBow^- #60 Posted February 18, 2002 I'm lucky in that most of the stuff I get from Funco is actually in really good shape. Or better yet there are usually multiples of what I want and I can sift through until I find the best looking one. The Wing Commander I picked up Saturday along with Lemmi's BigNose cart were both in really good shape. His big nose cart has some rubbing on the corners as normal for NES carts. But considering that his cart came from a video rental originally...I think it is in really good shape. Scanners cannot do any justice to the shininess of these carts. They tend to only show the flaws. Still, while I didn't have to...I still took Lemmi's BigNose cart apart and cleaned the contacts internally before testing it. They actually looked pretty dern shiny to begin with but I still saw some crap attached to them that I wanted off of there. Guess, I am just lucky to find the stuff in this good of shape. My Tetris is near mint near as I can tell, and upon looking at the contacts for it...it looked hardly used as I couldn't even find scrape marks on the contacts from previous insertions into an NES in the past. Lucky me.
Lemmi #61 Posted February 18, 2002 Funcolands in the suburbs have a better looking quality of carts, i just hate how they put the price tags on the end labels and sometimes on the front labels (i just dont get it) but in Detroit teenagers and kids dont take care of their stuff, i know this first hand, a few friends back in the prime of the NES would buy games throw away the boxes, manuals, and sleeves that the games came in, and they had a huge box in the corner of the room they would go in and grab some games and take it to the TV and when they were done playing that game they would throw the game back into the box from across the room (which bugged me even back then) All their games/Systems looked like crap, chipped pieces, cracked games and systems, it was around this time i started taking care of all my items seriously
