Yes,thank you,i just realised the Gravitar(silver label)is an 8 on the rarity scale, had no idea,as i never really knew anything on the game,or even its existence. How does someone go about finding out from a reputable source how much a game is worth $ wise?,and what makes the silver label so rare,i see 2600 games with the silver label everywhere? I found out about the Gravitar silver label recently too and from the rarity guide. At first, I had no idea label variations made a difference. Probably wouln't have known that about gravitar until I went through the whole guide just yesterday. I've only used the guide to search for the games I had or wanted to get. Gravitar isn't a game for me. I wouldn't have caught it on that one.
grimbasement #9 Posted April 14, 2006 (edited) oh yes,one last thing i forgot to mention, the game is boxed with shrink wrap, like the other 2 games i found ,thanx again Cough Cough... bullshit... Cough Cough Did atari shrink wrap the Atari Age releases in the early 80's. I thought all the boxes back then were just glued. Shrink wrapping came later on.... Correct me if I'm wrong. Cough Cough Did atari shrink wrap the Atari Age releases in the early 80's. I thought all the boxes back then were just glued. Shrink wrapping came later on.... Correct me if I'm wrong. Good question,Could be,the boxes are WRAPPED ,whether by factory or owner collector, much like a comic book collector wraps his comic books I DONT KNOW,like i have done to many of my games, which implys the boxes are mint or,at least better condition because of it,the owner took CARE OF HIS GAMES OBVIOUSLY ,so,I HAVE NO IDEA WHICH GAMES WERE WRAPPED BY FACTORY,to ME it doesnt matter, i keep all my games.A knowledgable collector knows this ,thats great, then they know what their buying, ive bought tons of games shrink wrapped,so how do you know if they were originally shrink wrapped or not?which is of vital importance to collectors? So,im not sure if your accusing me of posting BULLSHIT,or the game wrapped is bull in itself,i just posted WHAT i found, done by factory or not,i dont give a rats ass

+RandomPerson #12 Posted April 14, 2006 SO a thrift shop gives you a deal on super rare games that have been shrink wrapped by someone who knows what they have in there hands? At a minimum I won't say bullshit, but I would say they are stolen if you do have these games. Silver gavatar is not looked after that well and then thrown to a thrift store that is just stupidity. Pictures with some sort of proof they are actual in your possesion would be the ONLY way you would ever get anyone to belive you as it would be foolish to take your word for it. Games are donated by people from all walks of life, has it ever occured to you that some donaters are old people getting rid of stuff that their kids had when they were kids, who aquired the game when it came out?Thrift shops or the one i go to dont realize the true value of games, theyre just another object to them. Not everyone is an avid collector, not everyone knows what they have in their hands. The staff at value village are NOT game dealers or expert collectors.People assume everyone who plays classic games are experts and know what all their games are worth, some people dont care!like me,i just play to enjoy. To me its nothing to prove. The thrift shop didnt give me A DEAL,THE GAMES ARE ALL HUNG ON A WALL AROUND THE OTHER JUNK,FOR $4.00 IM NOT ASKING ANYONE TO TAKE MY WORD FOR IT,AS I DONT CARE,THIS IS ALL PRETTY JEUVENILE,IF I HAD KNOWN THIS WOULD BE SUCH AN ISSUE I WOULDNT HAVE POSTED.I had NO idea what gravitar was when i saw it,and i still dont care. +Omegamatrix #14 Posted April 14, 2006 Gravitar is super easy to find in the red label version, but the grey label is much more rare. Like you said it is an Atari Club release, and more desirable to collectors. Good on you for such a score! The box is probably worth more then the cart. Why? Because most people throw away the boxes so there are less of them then carts. If you want to sell it you should know that prices go up and down like a yo-yo on eBay. Some say it's the time of year, but in general I think the price for Atari carts is at an all time low. Scarce carts seem to be going for $40 from the normal of $60, and $40 carts seem to go for $20-$25 more and more. Perhaps it will go up. Who knows? In general selling hard to find boxes is where it's at as hardcore collectors don't need too much to complete there collection, and may be willing to pay a bit more than average to finish it. Thanx,"Omegamatrix",for the useful info!Ive kept ALL my boxes and re shrink wrapped my boxes to keep them nice, when bought new since i started buying them in around 1981,because i am a fussy person, not because i intend to sell them,as i do with all the things i own, which are immaculate.
