sniperstorm #1 Posted April 16, 2006 Well My bbs is off and running, in very basic form. I will get better as time goes on. If you want log on and I will valadate you next time I get on, then you will have access to the file section. Which is a very long list of files with no descriptions, and growing every day till I get 1500 disks coppied to the hard drive. Everyone who gets on will be able to edit file description, so if you know what the file is please add it. Good Luck to all. I am looking also for a source of BBS Express St script files, and someone good at Graphics for the bbs. telnet://68.9.36.211/

I wish the st could multi task so I can copy files and run the bbs at the same time.

Well, you could open up a sysop shell and do the copies from there, while the BBS is running. But that still stops users from logging on while you're doing it. Kinda defeats the purpose. +DarkLord #7 Posted April 20, 2006 Darklord What would it take to get you to make me some nice colorfull screens? Oh, I'd think $50 would do it... Just kidding! Seriously, I don't have a lot of free time, but if you can outline what you want, maybe I can give you enough to get started. I sent you the pictures (ASC, VT52, ANSI) that I use on DarkForce!... I don't care if you want to take those and use them as models for your BBS. Do change any names to protect the guilt....er innocent. PS You did get those scripts and pics okay, didn't ya? +DarkLord #10 Posted April 25, 2006 Well My ISP changed my ip address. so this is the new telnet. Anyone know away around this? telnet://68.9.36.211 and now it just changed back? WTF Well, it sounds like you've got a dynamic IP address. So do I, but I'm lucky that mine only changes rarely. Usually after a sustained power loss. I use my web site provider to do the translating for me. Thats why you can just telnet to "bbs.darkforce.org" instead of an actual IP address. You can still do that of course, but "bbs.darkforce.org" is so much easier to remember. Contact your provider and see what options you have. This could range from a permanent IP address to them doing the IP address/name for you. Sometimes it can be expensive. I didn't do it with my provider because you have to have a business account to get a static IP address. Very big $bucks$. Hope this helps.

jens #12 Posted April 27, 2006 You maybe can use a dyndns-System to give you a hostname which links to the actual address.
