orrimarrko #1 Posted April 17, 2006 General question. Are the games sold there any different than those sold at the original time of release? I'm asking because I saw someone refer to games on ebay as "O'Shea's games", though they were sold by many random sellers. I checked out the website, and they all look the same to me. Can anyone elaborate on this, and if the games are different/less desirable, etc. Thanks, Steve
+Omegamatrix #2 Posted April 17, 2006 Basically the O'Shea's just bought a huge stock pile of leftover Atari games, so yes they are the same.
Mindfield #3 Posted April 17, 2006 They've had that stockpile for, what... like 10 years or more? And still going strong.

I'm asking because I saw someone refer to games on ebay as "O'Shea's games", Probably me Can anyone elaborate on this, and if the games are different/less desirable, etc. They're less desirable in general only in that they're dirt common. People sometimes try to sell them for like 10 bucks a pop on Ebay but a) you can buy them from O'shea direct for half that price, and b) if you don't have these games by now, where the hell have you been?? I do think there were probably a few sellers who bought like hundreds of all these titles when they were 80 cents each, so now you can still find them for like 3 bucks on Ebay if you look. That's not a bad price. But the last time *I* talked about them as "O'shea's games" here was in reply to a post from a guy who was like "I just found a whole bunch of sealed Atari games!" and I was like "yeah, dude, you and like everybody else here over the last 10 years." Honestly, I don't have all of the O'shea titles myself, only because I bought like half the selection when they were 80 cents and then they jacked up the price... and in my mind, they're still only worth 80 cents. So I can't bring myself to spend what they're now charging for them.

Room 34 #7 Posted April 18, 2006 I bought pretty much my entire 7800 collection from O'Shea back in the late '90s for 80 cents each. Yeah, it's pretty hard to accept $5 each for the same games in the cave.
jpfalcon2003 #8 Posted April 18, 2006 Great place to start when you first get the system though.
mvigor #9 Posted April 20, 2006 They used to be 80 cents each on the same web site. *THAT* is what makes them so completely not rare.
Bruce Tomlin #10 Posted April 20, 2006 I think you can still get them cheap if you're willing to buy up whole cases of the same title or something like that. So if someone wanted a bunch of Jinks cartridges to make 7800+RAM games, that would be the way to go.
