Only one thing...

Maybe this has been done before maybe not but here it goes. Theres a fire and you only have time to grab one video game item, what would it be and why? Just curios.

My Virtual Boy because it's kind of unique at least here in europe, my girlfriend bought it for me and it was the first videogame my son "played"

My Atari video game box. All my 2600 and 7800 games are in one big clear storage container. i would grab the whole thing because I have lots of rare ones. The systems can be replaced easily.

My Vectrex. I can easily replace my PC and then emulate all my raster stuff up through the PS1(with reasonable success on most of it) but there's nothing that can even approach a realistic vector display.

It was also my first game machine, so it has nostalgic value(the 99/4a got far more action, but ... ).

 

It'll still be a tragic loss. Aside from all my "real" games being destroyed(along with all related items), my current-gen stuff will be gone until replacements are purchased, and I might have trouble finding *ahem* "backups" for some of my PC games.

Assuming that all the people/animals were safe and I had the chance to run back in and get only one "item" it would have to be my GBA. Most of the systems (SNES-up) have a boxed one sitting in storage anyway. But my GBA has seen more man hrs. than most ofther systems and I could never forget the shock when my then girlfriend suprised me with it.

So while I may be able to replace the system but never be able to reeplace that one.

Plus at this point everything we have pre-N-64/PS1 has been bought to replace that which we never had or got rid of. So it would be "fun" to do it again

Very tough choice, but probably my Cuttle Cart 2. Everything else is more easily replaced.

Well seeing as hwo If i grabbed a system it couldn't get the games as well I'm going with my two metal GBA and DS cases. All the games plus the systems, it's a win win.

I'd like to say I'd grab my Gamecube but it would have to be the plastic cart with drawers that holds my Sega Master System, NES, Dreamcast and Sega Nomad. Oh, and my GBA + flash cart (that's never far from reach, anyway)!

I'd have my heavily modified Xbox. Of course, my beloved DS is in my jacket pocket anyway, so I wouldn't need to grab that

Id have to take my Saturn, DS is always with me in some way (pocket or bag).

 

Only one question?... do i have time to take all of my beloved games lol? Systems are nothing without media!

 

But yea, id keep that system, i love it too much and that model isnt common to come by

 

(ironically i just had a dream about this exact situation about a month ago.. i hope it doesnt happen!)

too many to count..but if i had to it would be my xbox 360 and my genesis everything else can be replaced and id have my roomate get the 5200 and 7800 as well.. we have it all covered

Mmm, after the wife, kids and dogs are safe...I hate to say it but I own one really nice piece of artwork, and I'd probably have to chose it over the video game stuff, which is all replaceable. Especially since the Vectrex and 3D imager are locked up at the office.

in order of importance: me, girlfriend if she's here, mother(OUCH THIRD PLACE), Cat #2, Cat #1, 7" rekkids, lp rekkids, box o' complete activision 2600 carts, box with third parties like spectravision/parker bros, other atari carts, horror comics, cd collection, my dad if he's around, NES collection, system consoles.

 

The 5200 and intellivisions burn. too big for not enough gameplay.

Genesis? Genesis? .. don't get me wrong, I like the system.. but I paid literally two bucks for mine, CIB. I paid 5.99 and 10.00 for my OTHER TWO, thinking some friend would want one since they were coming cheap, but no, nope. Nobody wants one.

I recently picked up two 'genesi' (is that how you say that plural?) at a local thrift dump for 4.99 a piece thinking the same thing as you or maybe to try and get some friends into classic gaming. No one was intrested, I think they made so damn many of them that most people that want one already have one.

You guys are nuts, anything in my collection would cost money to replace. I can go out into the alley and find a new cat in 2 minutes.

 

I'd grab my Dragon Force and haul ass out of there, If I had time I'd save my games then my DVD's then my tv. I might come back for the cat if I wasn't too tired, unless I was wearing a nice shirt and didn't want to get smoke and cat hair on it.
