RSS Bot #1 Posted April 22, 2006 Hi there! Utilizing the powers of the 16-bit generation some more, Graftgold try their hands at some early RTS game Realms Programming: Steve Turner, Andrew Braybrook, Gary J. Foreman, David O'Connor, Jason Page, Eldon Lewis Graphics: Michael A. Field, John W. Lilley Musician: Jason Page Ratings: Amiga Joker: 75% LemonAmiga: 8.00 Overview: Realms is one of those standard Amiga style RTS games, that were all the rage once after Bullfrog had launched their killer-app Populous. When it came out, Bullfrog had already cemented their undisputed claim for being kings of genre, with delivering Popolous 2 and Powermonger. Mega-Lo-Mania was also already out, so Realms feels a bit Johnny-come-lately here. Relams borrows elements from several other games, mostly from Powermonger, but it has also city "managaging" aspects, which seem to be derived, yet a bit simplified, from Civilisation. You manage your cities, build your troops and send them to your neighbours. Usually the battles run automatically, only some very big ones get a zoomed in view where you can take some influence. Fun in 2006: Well, I'm almost tempted to say, if you've seen one of these games, you've seen 'em all I played 2-3 maps, but didn't really get sucked into. I guess mostly because it's missing an overall campaign/story that is tying the missions together. Realms compared to previous Graftgold titles: Unique in the Graftgold context, otherwise just another clone Greetings, Manuel http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?a...&showentry=1494
