This one's a little different. In a nod to GameFaqs, I'm going to run a massive popularity contest over the next fewtwo months.

Basically, we are going to choose a favorite game from each Atari platform and then have a face-off between the winners. To choose the games for each platform, this topic will serve as the nomination process for the contests.

Please post your favorite game for each system. One title per system and no more. More than one nomination will result in all nominations from the poster being discounted. The top 25 titles for each system (if there are that many) will face off in that system's poll.

Format your nominations in the following manner:

Atari Dedicated Systems: Video Pinball

Atari 2600: Adventure

Atari 8-Bit: The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy

Atari 5200: Rescue on Fractalus

Atari ST: Star Wars - The Arcade Game

Atari 7800: Ninja Golf

Atari Lynx: Joust

Atari Jaguar: Doom

Leave any additional comments for outside of your nomination list.

Eligiblility is open to all games (and dedicated systems) published prior to the JTS-Atari merger, the end of the corporate entity that was the original Atari.

Please post any questions before listing your nominations.

How specific are we getting with the various Atari computers? I'm only wondering because my knowledge of Atari's computers outside the XEGS is very limited.

'Atari 8-Bit' means any of the original 8-bit line, the XL & XE lines and the XEGS.

Not too sure how well this will work but here are my picks (I picked dunno). Maybe we should limit this to just Atari released games because when you get into the computer lines the sheer number of 3rd party games is tremendous.

Atari Dedicated Systems: Pong (unless touch-me counts)

Atari 2600: Adventure

Atari 8-Bit: M.U.L.E.

Atari 5200: Ballblazer

Atari ST: Sundog

Atari 7800: Tower toppler

Atari Lynx: Xenophobe (this changes weekly though, to many good choices)

Atari Jaguar: ??

M.A.S.H. is the most fun game ever made for the Atari video computer system. I picked it up off of EBAY- it was unexpectedly fantastic.
