+5-11under #1 Posted April 28, 2006 Hello, Someone I know wants to put a 7800 in his car's glove box. Unfortunately, it doesn't fit. I'm wondering if someone has a picture of the 7800 PCB, so I can see if there's any way to cut it down a wee bit. Thanks, 5-11under

Shawn #4 Posted April 29, 2006 I guess when they said they were'nt able to fit a Pokey chip on that thing, they weren't kidding. They could have very easy. Do you see how much of the board is taken up by un-needed grounding spots? About 10% of the board.

I wouldn't go so far as to call them un-needed but yes, the ground traces could easily have been reduced and a POKEY could have been fitted on the board with some clever placing and routing. /P
Zonie #6 Posted April 30, 2006 Get a bigger car, or cut out the back of the glovebox. depending on the location of the AC evaporator, or if there is one, there may be just enough wasted space back there hehind the wall. If it is one of the japanese style which has the bin attached to the door, hemay be able to cut that out as well.
Bruce Tomlin #7 Posted May 1, 2006 If Atari just had the balls to make a 24-pin POKEY without the I/O pins, they could certainly have fit one on there.
