AussieAtari #1 Posted May 2, 2006 My mum loved Video Vermin (a Centipede copy) in the mid-80's and I want to try to get her another copy and the hardware to go with it for her 70th birthday as a great retro present - yep, she is a pensioner who loves video games and PC's and always has since I was sellng them in the early 80's. Does anyone know what platform it was on? I think it was a Vic-20 cartridge but am not sure.
Jess Ragan #2 Posted May 2, 2006 http://www.answers.com/topic/centipede-video-game Yepper, this was a VIC-20 game, all right! It was developed by UMI. My favorite Centipede clones on the VIC-20 include Gridrunner and Milipede (not to be confused with Atari's sequel). Milipede holds the dubious distinction of being the first game I ever got from a less than legitimate source. Hope nobody at Sierra On-Line is reading this! AussieAtari #3 Posted May 2, 2006 Excellent, thanks for that Jess. Now all I have to do is locate a cartridge, the VIC-20 hardware is the easy bit.
Mayhem #4 Posted May 3, 2006 Fairly sure I've seen a couple on eBay recently. UMI carts, despite being in general somewhat hard to find, turn up fairly often there.
