Just won Chuckwagon (Ntsc) & Mangia (Pal) on ebay FINALLY Spectra Complete! :-)

Recommended Posts

I've been hunting Chuckwagon for so many years I thought I'd never get it. I also swore to never pay more than $100 for it, since I had played the game on my supercharger and no matter how much I had to have it, because it's been a holy grail to me since I was a kid (I didn't have a dog and saved up for it, but never made it,) I wouldn't pay over that amount cause the game itself was a 'tad weak.' Well, after all that time, scored one for $50 on epay :-) and to make things even more surprising, a pal Mangia for 20 some odd gbp, thus making my spectravision 2600 collection title complete (gas hog & master builder are also pal, all the rest are ntsc,)

Chuckwagon has always been my 2600 holy grail cart... ahh :-) Anyone else have any other cart that has eluded them and is their own personal Holy Grail? (regardless of rarity or non-rarity,)

On a side note, I find the rarity thing to very interesting and very regional. I've been hunting Chuck since the days it was available in mail order and have never even seen one, and I have two quadruns and a lab loaner, for example. As well as ntsc obelix (rarity 10,) as examples. Rarity seems to vary greatly with region (I've been in New York and Florida.)

Planet Smashers for the 7800 took me quite a while to get, about 6 months I guess. I was shooting for the $20 range and I got it for $18.

For the 2600 it had to be Pong Sports picture label for sure. It took me almost 2 years to find one. But I did wait for a mint one and I got a mint one.

Still looking for a MIB Smurfs:RIGC, been after that one for 3 or 4 years.

A few years go I managed to snag for about $212 (w/ shipping) a CIB Chuckwagon, all in very good condition. She thought it didn't include instructions, but when it arrived, it had them. She didn't see them because Chuckwago instructions were printed on a single sheet, and it was wedged betwenn the internal and out layer of the cardboard box.

And the best part of it all? Included was an original actual COUPON used to send out for the game.
