ubersaurus #1 Posted April 15, 2002 What is everyone's idea of the best intellivision games, released, homebrew, unreleased, whatever. My personal favs would go for Beamrider, Frog Bog, Pac-Man, and Diner. What of other people?
liquid_sky #2 Posted April 15, 2002 1. Burgertime...ahh sweet sweet burgertime 2. Astroblast, what a classic, deducting from your score for mistakes! 3. Beauty and the Beast.. why?? Cuz like i posted way back before, the beast LOOKS LIKE RONALD REAGAN!!
Paul Slocum #3 Posted April 15, 2002 1) Auto Racing (fun with 2 players) 2) Burgertime 3) Loco-Motion (great puzzle game) I've also heard Utopia is really cool (like an early Sim game), but I just recently got the manual and haven't had time to learn it yet. -Paul
King Atari #4 Posted April 16, 2002 Dracula, Masters of the Universe, Star Srike.
Big Player #5 Posted April 16, 2002 Happy Trails--very similar to Locomotion, though I haven't played the Intellivision version. Horse Racing--love to handicap the races. Utopia--great with two players. A simplified cross of Sim City and Civilization. Dracula--I just like biting people and watching them turn into numbers. BIG EARL #6 Posted April 17, 2002 UTOPIA was the greatest! My brothers hated me because that was the only game I wanted to play. I think that is the game that got me hooked on RTS games like Command & Conquer, Homeworld and Star Wars Galatic Battlegrounds
CosmicJoke #7 Posted April 17, 2002 I hate to say this on an Atari Message Board, but, the Intellivision also had a lot of great games! liquid_sky quote: 1. Burgertime...ahh sweet sweet burgertime 2. Astroblast, what a classic, deducting from your score for mistakes! I completely agree with you on these two SafeCracker..anyone else remember this? great fun. He-Man: Masters of the Universe..it was fun and graphically I thought it was good at the time. Back in the day, I could kick butt with the Inty's controllers, but, now I suck I mean as a kid I LOVED those controllers, what the heck was I thinking? Big Player #12 Posted April 18, 2002 Safecracker has a steep learning curve. And I have the overlays and instructions as well (in six different languages!) I can't imagine anyone figuring out this game on his own. Imagic really made some interesting games for the Intellivision. But it is fun, once you put a lot of time into it--which seems to apply to a lot of Intellivision games.
Adrian M #13 Posted April 18, 2002 The only game that held my attention on the Intellivision Lives emulation disc was Shark! A good degree of skill was required to succeed at this tough game. You're a little fish who can only eat species that are smaller than you. After you eat a predetermined amount, you grow thus enabling you to eat larger species. The shark could be defeated by gently eating away at his tail, but he had a nasty tendency to turn quickly, resulting in death for your helpless little fish. I liked that game and I'm surprised no one else has mentioned it thus far.
liquid_sky #14 Posted April 18, 2002 that games num 4 on my list.. i love pestering the shark by nipping his tail until he dies
Gunstar #15 Posted April 18, 2002 If it's the game I'm thinking of, Auto Racer was my favorite...overhead view, 2 player, if one person got ahead too far it would start fresh from the point of the leader and the loser would lose time/points? The 8-bit Atari had a very similiar game called Rally Speedway I think, loved it too...actually I liked the Atari one better 'cause you had real joysticks . Great INTV game though!!! Markimus of K. #16 Posted April 18, 2002 not a huge 'inty' fan, but Auto Racing was way ahead of its time, great 2 player game. My all-time fave would be Star Strike because it was a rip of the Star Wars trench battle, the only thing like it on home consoles at the time, great fun! as always, Markimus of K. Philflound #17 Posted April 18, 2002 Demon Attack. At least it had the last board. At least I think it did. I have so many damn systems that I get confused sometimes. Phil
ubersaurus #18 Posted April 18, 2002 I had to learn how to use them not too long ago, but now I kinda like them. I must say, Robot Rubble is really sweet, the final version of it anyhow. I play it all the time on my intellicart.
