PacManPlus #1 Posted May 10, 2006 First off, I have to say, thank God for my sister. She knows I collect Atari-related things, so when she went to a garage sale over the weekend and saw a box of Atari stuff, she called me. She wanted to know if she should pick it up. At the time I was going through a car wash (it was a nice day, so there was a long line), so I never got the message. Luckily, she decided to get it and I'm glad she did. This is what $30 got me: 1) a 4-switch woody 2) a 2 port 5200 3) a 2600 jr 4) 3 sets of paddles (some are broken, though) 5) 2 joysticks 6) 2 Atari Game Holders (Behind the carts - somewhat beat up) 7) 12 5200 carts (10 commons, and Keystone Capers and River Raid!) 2 NES games 9) 41 2600 games! (2 of them are worth the $30 alone... Can you find which two?) BTW the game with no end label is only StarShip) I am psyched!

Godzilla #3 Posted May 10, 2006 so which 2 are you thinking? spy and crystal? tut? tron, bump n jump? is that obscured imagic game Atlantis? Great score, congrats. In all my years of collecting, I've NEVER found anything classic game related at a yard sale.
+Allan #4 Posted May 10, 2006 Congrats!. Although it looks like your car isn't the only thing that needs a wash. Allan
PacManPlus #5 Posted May 10, 2006 (edited) Thanks! The two that were worth it for me are the Spy Hunter and the '86 Label Air Sea Battle Bob @Allan - Yes, I need to clean everything up @Godzilla - That is an Atlantis under there, yes. Now I have three versions of that label: Day Scene, Night Scene, and Text only. :-/ Bob Edited May 10, 2006 by PacManPlus

PacManPlus #9 Posted May 10, 2006 Thanks Shawn: They are the 8 Cartridge binder version. I think I'm keeping them for now, but after looking at them more, they are in *very* bad shape.

Crazy Climber #11 Posted May 10, 2006 Two games worth $30? Spy Hunter and ? Quick question, did the 5200 come with working controllers? That would suprise me. I also have never found anything at a yard sale but a few PS1 games and I check every summer. Congratulations.
PacManPlus #12 Posted May 10, 2006 Hi: I'm figuring that being that 'Spy Hunter' is a rarity 6, and the '86 Label Air-Sea Battle isn't even in the rarity guide, that it would have to be more rare than the label versions that exist in that guide. Not that it matters really, I just like acquiring the carts (or versions of carts) that I don't have. The 5200 did not come with any controllers, which is fine. I have two extra working ones anyway. Dirt Gherkin #13 Posted May 10, 2006 As a fellow collector, congratulations on a nice haul! As a fellow Long Islander, I'm tweaked I didn't get to it first. Just kiddin', congrats! I haven't been finding as much these past few years, this will motivate me to get up early on Saturday mornings.

Actually, it's one of the more common re-release labels. Still, very cool! Congrats on your score.
Lord Thag #16 Posted May 13, 2006 Nice find! Scoring a Spy Hunter in the wild is good bragging rights, and it's a great port given the 2600 was never designed to even come close to a game like that. Bump n' Jump is another of my favs. That 5200 score is amazing too. It just goes to show you, no matter how many times you get burned, ALWAYS check a garage sale when you see one.
