Can't Get Tape Images to Run In Atari800Win

Recommended Posts

I can't get cassette images to run in Atari800Win - when I try it crashes the emulator (see pic)!

What am I doing wrong?

I would suggest going to the "Misc" menu and choosing "clear all settings", then exit the emulator and double-click the .cas file.

Also, some cassette files require BASIC to be disabled (including most games), whereas some that are written in BASIC will clearly require the opposite. For some BASIC files, it's also necessary to start the emulator, then attach the .cas image from the file menu, then type "CLOAD" and press return twice.

Also, make sure that all cartridges and disks are detached (file menu again) before trying to use the .cas file.

Is it all cassette images that give you the problem, or one in particular?

The so-called version 4.0Final of Atari800WinPlus has this bug where it crashes after choosing File -> Attach Tape option. It is, however, possible to load tapes by using Atari -> Tape Images option and then loading the tape, or by File -> Autoboot option. So you may use these, until Version 4.1 reaches the final state.
