Schmead55 #1 Posted May 18, 2006 has anyone tried these on the 2600. I love mine, at times i'd almost prefer it over the WICO. i gave the game the usual tests, Dragonfire and Cosmic Arc, and for the paddle side; Kaboom. The joystick was excellent, with a few small hickups, it doesn't go well from diagonals to sideways or up and down. but the paddle. . . good lord. i actually scored my high in Kaboom, which was 3150, the first day i used the Gemini. i think it's a great controller, and is now right next to the WICO on my system. One thing that's hard to get used to, is in Kaboom, instead of pressing the button to let go the next salvo of bombs, you need to press the joystick, kinda weird. Also, for two player paddle games, you need to pass off the controller, even on the gemini system itself. Any comments? TTFN Matt
Lord Helmet #2 Posted May 18, 2006 I like the stick on those controllers, but the paddle sucks IMHO. Atari paddles just have a smoother feel to them. The Gemini stick is also the ONLY joystick with a side fire button that does not cramp my hand.
Bilnick #3 Posted May 18, 2006 The Gemini controllers came with a Y connector to play 2 player paddle games with.
stop_rebel_scum #4 Posted May 19, 2006 hi matt. alicia says she loves the way i type she is squirming all over me like a flying lizard how are you the gemini controllers ain't bad. firing button gets tiring after a while though so no for shooters usually unless you hold it down permanently welcome to atariage, which has me, and some other people, and some other people. I had this problem too, I lost the "Y" cable. I had to open the controller and switch the places of the yellow and blue wires, and then the button worked ok when playing paddle games. Only problem is that the joystick part won't work until you switch the wires back to the way they were.
