Starting to get the hang of Baby Pac-Man

Recommended Posts

This is one game I always found too difficult. Below is my high score, and I only died because I was getting board and started taking more chances.

But there are a few things I was able to figure out: This is the one Pac-Man variant where you *don't* want to clear boards. Stay on the first board as long as possible. When you get energizers, use them and 'slide' back into the pinball game. I've figured out a trick to keep the ball in the extreme side lanes to forward the 'Tunnel Speed' and 'Fruit' all the way to the max pretty quickly, and if you do that a number of times you get a bonus player. So I would get to a certain point, and if I lost the ball, I would purposely die on the board, go back to the pinball and earn another bonus player.

Now, I know that most likely on the real thing (because of physics) much (if not all) of what I do may not be consistent so it's null and void, but at least you can apply the same logic...

:)

I wondered why the programmers made the graphics look more Atari 2600'ish...the monsters HOME in on you as well, cause their eyes don't turn and they reverse on a dime all the time....just weird.

This is one game concept I wished took off. The idea of combining a videogame and a pinball machine I thought was brilliant at the time in that it allowed for two different groups of players to develop strategies for mastering the game.

That's a great score. That's much better than I have ever done. Was that done on pinMAME?

Well the video pinball combos Attack from Mars and Star Wars Phantom Menace that came out in the late 90s didn't result in more of those produced despite how fun those were.

i actually like this Pac-Man game the best. Hope it is eventually available for a home console system. Preferrably the 2600 or 7800.
