I don't know about the best, but what about games like: Krull, Crossbow, Venture, No Escape, Joust & HE-MAN (Masters of the universe).

:ponder: :ponder: :!:

If you want the Conan genre, aside from Adventure you have nothing unless you own a Supercharger. The rest are all action games which happen to have a heroic theme.

Raiders of the Lost Ark maybe. Indy isn't a mythical warrior character like Conan, but the hero-oriented theme is there.

thx a lot guys for all your answers.

adventure is still a great game!

so is venture.

when the big monsters enter the treasure rooms it's still very threatening like in silent hill but funnier to play!

we can add "sorcerer" to the list.

is there an end to this game or am i condamned to fly over hundreds and hundreds of evil minions for the rest of my old days on my trusty magic platform?

shagohod x99: a friend of mine lend me "rastan" on sega master system and even if i've found it a little bit too easy, it was a very good fantasy conan style game.

What about HERO? May not be Fantasy but it is certainly Heroic ;)

I love Smurfs. But Atari's version is super lame. Colecovision is much better. I also sing the song once in awhile.

Dragonstomper is untouched on the 2600. The game is truly awesome and stands as one of my favorite rpgs of all time, including modern games.

you can add Sorcerer to your garbage can, that thing is tripe through and through.

What about Dark Chambers? Is it heroic enough? Xenophobe?

For me it's Krull , Adventure, DragonStomper and dare I say Sir Lancelot. All four are excellent games that fit the description. Although I guess Krull and Sir Lancelot would be a little more action oriented, but they are heroic and fantasy themed. :)

what is it with dragons looking like weak little birds on the 2600? :-)

(looks like a chicken, and of course the famous 2600 adventure duck.)

least dragon stomper & fire got it right (guess if u have 'dragon' in the game title, then u make it look like a dragon? otherwise, make it look like a small weak bird?

Ooo, Krull didn't cross my mind, and for some reason Dark Chambers didn't. Krull I think is actually the best fantasy game suggested so far.

It has adventure, action, and rescue of a fair maiden. What else would you want in a fantasy game?
