New ColecoVision game with demo released...

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the compliment! Now I will need do my best to justify your confidence...

How about the SI Part II question, which version would you like more? I was planning on using the original Japanese Taito version... But I think I would include the Midway one if someone care about it.. :-)

Hope hear of you,

hey Eduardo. MY preference is the Taito SI part 2. Which means I think the flashing saucer should be 500 pts (not 200) and the invaders should split starting at the 4TH stage (i.e. not the 2nd)

Those are small differences though. Maybe you can make it so it has both?

Hi everybody!

I am working on a new game for ColecoVision. To be honest, it isn't exactly a new game... I am doing a convertion of the arcade game Space Invaders. A demo is already available on my web page: www.geocities.com/vgbelloq

I hope you Coleco and classic videogame fans enjoy it... :-)

Wow Looks Great! I am a BIG Space Invaders fan since I was a kid and I have to say it looks awesome. One of the best things I can see is that you plan on including SI part 2/Deluxe in there which will be a FIRST as far as I know.

By the way do you plan on basing the part 2 on the TAITO SI Part 2? or the Midway SI Deluxe? There are minute differences like what stage the invaders split up on and the pt value of the blinking saucer. I'm just curious

Hi Eduardo!

Say, if I may ask this:

Being a programmer myself, I'm very curious if you're using any of Daniel Bienvenus C stuff and a C-compiler to programm Space Invaders, or if you're doing everything in real Z80 Assembler?

And which other tools/compilers/editors do you use?

Greetings,

Manuel

Hi everybody!

I would wish to thank everyone for the great response and interest to Space Invaders for CV.

Now I feel confident that the project has the necessary support to go forward.

I will try to keep all of you informed about the game progress and to what is coming up.

In the meantime, if anyone has some comments or sugestions, please let me know...

I hope it is going to be just the first of many projects I will do for CV or others classic systems.

Thanks,

Eduardo Mello

Hi Manuel!

I am doing everything in pure Z-80 assembly. Since it is a conversion, I need to have control about everything that is going on in a very low level.

As to the tools, I am using a Zilog assembler, Win WordPad, win Paint, PaintShopPro and Gremlin, a Z-80/R800 disasm by Cybernight, a friend of mine. I think it isn't really a very sophisticated tools set, but... :-)

I love Space Invaders. I even got the SNES version when it was new! If a console as Space Invaders or a clone of it, I'm after it.

AH yes...

I currently have a Ms. Pac-Man and a Outrunners arcade console decorating my room. (It drives my mom crazy!) And I am currently looking for a Soace Invaders and a Pac-Man to help accompany me when I sleep. (THEY NEVER GO OFF!! REALLY!!!)

But specifically Space Invaders. I know I may seem crazy, but hey, the good thing is, whenever you wake up in the middle of the night, you can have a play at Ms. Pac-Man (or Outrunners, and Its SMS counterpart, Out-Run.)
