+-^CrossBow^- #7 Posted June 2, 2006 However!!!! Be warned that those of you with a 32x, JVC X'Eye, CDX, or Laseractive! This game will NOT play correctly in those units. This was only VERY recently discovered. I don't have a copy of this game (yet), to know for sure, but I believe it has to do with how it saves games? Anyway, just wanted to get that out there and make sure you were all in the know.
NintendoDieScreaming #8 Posted June 2, 2006 The screenshots and the cartridge look wonderful. Its awesome to see the Genesis homebrew scene a little more active
Happy_Dude #9 Posted June 2, 2006 they went to the trouble of making new carts and cases so there is only one question left to ask. Masked ROM or EPROM ?

Well that's crappy, a little quality control can go a long way... just ordered mine a few days ago, haven't received it yet. Any idea if the game will play ok on the Nomad? I could connect the Nomad to the tv and play it that way I suppose.

I wonder if the incompatibility had to do with their attempt to make the game "undumpable"? I think it takes a lot of work to make a game work on the Gen1 and Gen2 and any Sega CD combination (does it work in a Sega CD setup?), but not on a 32x, XEye, CDX or Laseractive. I should hope it at least works on a Nomad, since that's basically a Gen2 in a smaller case.
DeathAdderSF #12 Posted June 3, 2006 (edited) Any idea if the game will play ok on the Nomad?Beggar Prince works 100% on the Nomad. Ha. I wonder if the incompatibility had to do with their attempt to make the game "undumpable"? No, it doesn't. Rather, its how the game was originally coded; the save function is deeply hard-coded into the game and couldn't be changed. Ferris #13 Posted June 3, 2006 Ha well count me out. All I have is a CDX. Wonder why they did it that way? Looks good for a homebrew but I dont think I'm going to go out of my way to pick up a regular Genesis for it. Cheers.
cimerians #14 Posted June 3, 2006 Thats unfortunate, I have a CDX too and I don't feel like hooking up my Genesis to play it.....
Jagasian #15 Posted June 6, 2006 This is going to be one of those ultra rare games in about 5 years, which every collector wish they bought when they had the chance.

anagrama #19 Posted June 7, 2006 This is going to be one of those ultra rare games in about 5 years, which every collector wish they bought when they had the chance. I very much doubt that. The first run was 600 copies, and Super Fighter have said that they will keep printing more while demand is there.
Tempest #20 Posted June 7, 2006 Well that sucks. I have a 32X that I really don't feel like unhooking every time I want to play a game, so I guess I won't get it. LONG LIVE THE MUSHROOM! Tempest

The first run was 600 copies, and Super Fighter have said that they will keep printing more while demand is there. How many Genesis games have only 600 to 1000 copies total? Most Genesis games have at least 10,000 copies. That is an extremely small amount, which will make the game rare. Not now, but in 5 to 10 years those low numbers will make it a very rare game.
