goatdan #103 Posted April 5, 2002 Wow, I completely missed this thread. I thouhgt I had read it, but upon reading it I hadn't read it. Anywho, GOAT Dan is 21 First console: Atari 2600 Vader (dad's console) First video game played: Space Invaders First console I owned: NES First video game I bought new: Super Mario Bros. 3 First arcade game played: TMNT First arcade game owned: Ajax First pinball game owned: Cybernaut In many ways, I think it's odd that I got into video games so much. My parents kept telling me that I couldn't get another video game system because the 2600 was more than enough until I finally bought myself an NES around 1988. This did really get me into 2600 collecting though, as I could find 2600 games for fifty cents at rummage sales or buy NES games for forty...
King Atari #104 Posted April 5, 2002 quote: ~What really is in McDonald's chicken nuggets, King Atari?! Or anyone? Is it not all chicken then?? Well, with the introduction of their new chicken strip things, which they claim has 100% white meat, their previous chicken substances were apparently not 100% white meat. We are only left to guess what exactly is in them.

Remember it works the same way we count, start with 1 ('61) and end with 10 ('70). A little calender lesson for all those people who think the millenium ended when the date changed to 2000. 2001 started the new millenium not 2000. Again sorry, but I just HAD to do that. Osmeroid #113 Posted April 5, 2002 I've got it! "Stone the crows" Apparently it was as a reference to the ravens in the Tower Of London, associated with the old story that if they all left, that all of England would fall. Mistaken for crows, the enemies of England sought to drive them away. Also used occasionally in parts of Australia and New Zeland.

NoahsMyBro #121 Posted April 6, 2002 DOB: 9/18/1968 -- 33yrs old. I don't remember what my first console was, but I can describe it a little bit. It sounds like bangles66 may have had the same unit. It was a Pong system; I have no idea who made it. It included gun games, but my Mom took the gun and we never were permitted to use it. The console's finish and styling had a lot of silver and chrome, and it looked VERY sleek and futuristic for the time. (Early 70's). The 2 controllers were rectangular, with chrome-ball-topped sliders postioned in the middle, sliding length-wise atop the controller. The controllers could be used hand-held, or they could be used in these cool storage slots built into the console itself. There was an area of the console cut out of each of the 2 corners nearest the players (farthest from the TV). The cut-outs were diagonals from the corners toward the middle of the case. The controllers' cords connected to the console at the deep end of the cutouts. It was a really cool system. Then, in 1977 we got an Atari VCS, which I still have and used recently to play QB! Eventually I obtained several VCS/2600s. My brother, friends and I got to be experts at propping up the correct # of cartridges under the AC Adapter jack to permit a good connection. Nowadays I have nobody to play games with , and I have much difficulty finding time to use my awesome Dreamcast. Oh well. Steve
