Weekend finds 05-18-02

Recommended Posts

Well I hit our bi-annual flea market on Saturday and went through 50 or 60 booths and came across a complete SNES for $5 (including two controllers) and passed on a Sega Genesis 3 for $20.

I also passed on a table top Coleco Donkey Kong electronic game for $5 because it was missing the battery cover.

Not a single Atari, Coleco, or even NES game.

Anyone else find anything worth while?

This weekend I bought a complete NES w/about 10 games for ten bucks. Unfortunately the NES doesn't work. It just acts like you turned it on without a cart inserted. Does anybody know some of the reasons why an NES might do this?

They nearly always do it and nobody really knows the truth behind blinkers.

Try opening it up and cleaning the cart port connectors, then bend the connectors slightly outwards so as they make better connection with the cart.

I've heard that it's the best way to deal with them, but I've never done it myself. ClassicGaming.com have a comprehensive guide to this repair.

I hit the flea this weekend and got 2 sealed genesis games... Jordon vs Bird and

Tyrants:Fight Through Time... which I hear is a pretty uncommon game.. Looks interesting.. I didn't open it yet.

I guess it's alot like an old Atari ST game I played years ago called Populous...
