zraider #1 Posted May 23, 2002 Am I missing something, or what ? In the listing of companies producing games, I can't find Sierra-Online. Did they just produce the games for the 8-bit ? I know the original Jawbreaker and the 'chuckles' version were both put out by Sierra.
Albert #2 Posted May 23, 2002 Hi Zraider, Sierra didn't actually publish any titles for the 2600. Jawbreaker for the 2600 was published by Tigervision, who licensed several properties to turn into 2600 games. Once we get the Atari 8-bit section online, Sierra will be added to the list of companies. ..Al
+-^CrossBow^- #3 Posted May 24, 2002 Actually Albert, Take a look at the Starpath version of Frogger...you will clearly see Sierra On-Line listed on the cassette cover and box. Don't know if that is really important...but that is a 2600 product that does list Sierra On-Line seperate.

True, if you look at the box you can see the text, "Program concept and packaging pursuant to sublicense from Sierra On-Line, Inc." So I presume Siera had the magnetic media rights from Sega, and Starpath simply sublicensed them. Assuming that's the case, it's not much different than many of the other games that were licensed, it's just that Sierra smartly managed to get their logo on the packaging. ..Al
