i can't believe anybody would pre order a Wii before first trying the Wii controller. Unless the games have an option for Wii controller game or Reg controller game.

For the most part the games will use the "normal" controller and even if they use the remote style one, most of the titles will also support the pad also AFAIK.

I'm preordering one soley on my faith that Nintendo will deliver the goods. They always have - every single Nintendo console has delivered great joy and fantastic games - and I don't expect anything less from the Wii. They've earned my preorder dollars on their stellar past track record, and what I'm seeing so far gives me a lot of hope. I completely understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea, to each their own, but I haven't been this excited about a console in a long time.

$50 is lower? The 360 games are starting to get lowered to $39 already. By the time the Wii rolls around, i'd best most of the games will be around $39 new and new games will be around the same price point as the Wii games.

this is all great news..but when can we reserve the ps3? thats what id like to know:)

I think the key to Wii's success will be the Demo Kiosks. If Nintendo can setup unique attractive kiosks within retail stores and malls, then they will have a winner on their hands.
