What's better: Contra or Super C?

Another buying problem, and I can only afford one. So, what does everyone prefer?

The replay value is HUGE, its a classic, you can do the infamous KONAMI cheat, its VERY simply and you can just wail away on stuff literally for hours!

Both are great but I think that the original NES Contra wins out as far as playtime and difficulty. But if you can, get both

Get both. They're both pretty easy to find for a couple of bucks in the wild.

I saw Contra at a thrift once, but was stupid enough to pass it up. Anyways, I can get Contra or Super C for $12 each, but both are so good I'm not sure what to pick first. Contra was the original, but Super C was awesome, too.

Contra always seems to be priced at around $8 at the flea markets these days since everybody knows it's a good classic game. It pisses me off since it's so common. I refuse to pay that much for a game I know is worth about $3.

But the replay value is also huge in Super C, too, and it's a classic as well. Can you actually do the code in that one though?

 

I don't know, at this point, I'm leaning slightly towards Super C, I like the graphics better, and it's from 1990 (beginning of NES's last years?). But, Contra is awesome too. Decisions, decisions.

I would personally wait if they are 12 a piece. It took me a few weeks to find Contra once I started looking and I ended up getting it at a flea market for 3 dollars. If you're dead bent on getting one of the two I'd say get super c, because I've haven't seen it out nearly half as much as I've seen contra.

Okay, still leaning towards Super C, but nothing definite yet. And this little quote from Stan has become a bit of a metaphor (I guess):

 

"How is this one better than Super Breakout? Why do you think they called it “Super” Breakout? Because it was better than Breakout."

 

SUPER C? Why do you think they called it SUPER? Because it's better than Contra! While that may not apply entirely to the Contra series, it sure is nice and inspiring, isn't it?
